The food is delicious! I went with 4 other people and we were all happy with our meals. The hostess was rude and unfriendly even though I'm pretty sure that's the opposite of what her job is. She refused us a bigger table, that I asked for, saying it was reserved even though it clearly wasn't. There were still oranges and crayons on the floor under it from the last people and no one came the entire time we were there. The server was cool but seemed like he was bouncing around from one side of the place to the other, even though it wasn't that busy. The atmosphere was ruined by somebody who kept scraping their chair across the floor, which made an ear piercing (worse that nails on a chalkboard) sharp noise every time he moved. After the third time it happened I was ready to go. They really need to fix that. Hostesses are hired to WELCOME people in - as in make patrons feel welcome. The one they have definitely fails at that. Over all the food is delicious! It's not delicious enough to deal with rude employees and that damn noise. If I ever go back I'll order take out and hopefully it won't come in the to-go container he gave me for my food. The sauce leaked through the paper it's made of .*I'm impressed they have impossible tacos.I wish the experience wasn't immediately ruined for me by that unpleasant person in the front.Vegetarian options: Impossible tacos on the menu!

One Star, we go here a lot, and our last visit this weekend was an epic fail. The Molcajete, was awful. We ordered three to the table and non came in the stone crock, it’s supposed to be a stew if you read the description below but the liquid was basically non existent and meat was dry and it was a bad meal all the way around. We order two of the cheese queso flameado dip, in the crocks but would have preferred to be used for the dinner dishes. What’s the most shocking is that the server didn’t say anything, so that we could have chosen a different item for dinner. Never heard of stew being served on a plate, definitely feels like a bait and switch, show one thing on the menu then bring something else to the table.

Moctezuma Mexican Restaurant Review:If you find yourself at Southcenter Mall and craving authentic Mexican cuisine, look no further than Moctezuma Mexican Restaurant. During our visit, we opted to dine in the bar area, but the restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, exuding a calm and inviting ambiance. The drinks served were not only delicious but also artistically presented, adding a decorative touch to our dining experience. One highlight that stood out was the mesmerizing smoke effect accompanying all the dishes we ordered, which added a unique and memorable element to the meal.Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Moctezuma. The combination of flavorful dishes, stylish decor, and welcoming atmosphere left a lasting impression. I look forward to returning to this restaurant whenever I'm in the area or when the craving for exceptional Mexican cuisine with a touch of sleek style strikes again. Moctezuma Mexican Restaurant truly delivers a delightful dining experience that is sure to satisfy both your appetite and your aesthetic senses.

Ironically, the only Mexican restaurant that doesn't celebrate your birthday, no Mañanitas music, no surprise dessert, nothing, NOTHING! Very disappointed because I took my husband and the waiter offered us the most expensive dessert and just said, - well, Have a good time"!. He told me, obviously, until we paid the bill, that they didn't do anything special about your birthday.

Fun Mexican restaurant with excellent margaritas and a gluten-free menu. The margarita flight is recommended.

I have lived in Seattle for a while, but had not been to Moctezuma’s, so my wife and I decided to try it out.Overall, it was a great restaurant with a very casual, yet modern atmosphere. The restaurant was super busy, but it was dinner time. The service was good, and the food was excellent. As vegetarians, we really appreciated the vegetarian options that they have available on the menu. The food was fresh, warm, and had a great taste. There was some mix-up with my order, but the manager and server were able to quickly correct it.Overall, I highly recommend Moctezuma’s.

Food was very sub par. It was evident quality ingredients were not used for food. Although the staff is very friendly and helpful and the ambiance was very nice.

We ate on the patio, which is enclosed and heated, and appreciated that it was a little more quiet. The service was great and the food and drinks were amazing!

Edit: It's with absolute joy to say that this restaurant is better than I remember it. So many restaurants have gone downhill since the lockdowns, but this one stayed strong. The meals came out in no time, but we're clearly freshly cooked with how hot they were inside. For four people, with drinks (two alcoholic), and a generous tip to cost as little as it did is outstanding.*****In the ten years I've lived in WA state, it's the first and still only Mexican restaurant that takes me back to the Mexican border. Their furnishings are comfortable yet appealing, their staff is friendly and helpful, and their food is absolutely delightful. It has become one of our favorite "date night" restaurants and has never let us down. I highly recommend the chimmichangas ;)Dietary restrictions: My husband has never had a reaction there and he's allergic to tree nuts (including coconut), msgs, mushrooms, benzoates, nitrates, Parmesan and Romano.Parking: This one has an outside entrance but is connected to the Southcenter Mall, so you just use the mall's parking but don't have to go into the crowds of shoppers.Kid-friendliness: They provide a children's menu with crayons and activities and includes options for Mexican food (nachos, burritos, tacos, and enchiladas) and options for American food (hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and chicken tenders). The smoothies come filled to the top in a typical glass though and are easy for little hands to spill, so fair warning if it's for a little one. Staff was incredibly friendly without being creepy.Wheelchair accessibility: It's on the bottom floor, no stairs, and a wide open entry way.
