Sound Credit Union's interest rates are great and their in-person customer service excellent. Their online banking experience is subpar. User passwords disable after inactivity, a reset requires a phone call, and the first line agents can't reset but must escalate to specialist who will call back. All advice about financial fraud indicates that we should not be discussing secure banking information with a call from an unknown number, so that's a problematic step in the process. For the cost of handling multiple phone calls (and frustrating their customers), the bank could surely implement automated and secure password reset.I expect a 21st century banking experience from a bank with which I have multiple accounts. Do better, Sound CU.

Wife and I tried to open accounts online. We funded the new account. After which I was told to bring paperwork into a branch to prove we are WA residents, okay. I drove to the closest branch and waited nearly 30 minutes only to be told they haven't opened an account (okay where is the $50 we used to fund it?). Rather than trying to help I felt like once I finally saw the banker at this branch she wanted to get rid of me. I had our renters insurance policy, and a utility bill and even a copy of our lease to prove that we are indeed Wa residents. I did exactly what the online system told me to and the lady didn't even want to look at all the paperwork I brought in. She said she needed physical WA drivers licenses(my paper one wasn't enough). Well I sure didn't know that from the online experience otherwise I wouldn't of wasted time and gas today and waited until my hard copy drivers license came in the mail. Complete waste of my time, stay away. BECU is a much better company.

Quiet, with friendly and straightforward service. Gina T. was very helpful.I also appreciate Sound’s app. It is easy to use and comes in handy when I need to check my account details or pay bills. My experience with Sound has been so much better than my experience with banks.

My money was stolen from my bank card. I filed a dispute and gave them my police report and they did NOTHING! My moneys just GONE. This isn’t the first time they haven’t taken my dispute seriously. With most banks the customers right until proven otherwise. You never know when someone steal your info so to prevent the chance of never getting your money back PLEASE DONT CHOOSE SOUND CREDIT UNION!

We had a great experience at this branch. The customer service provided by Alex Murphy was amazing from the moment we sat down with her. She was very courteous and helpful. She gave us a very positive impression of this place and was able to help us get the results we wanted and fast. Thank you Alex for answering all our questions and making this a great experience.

I came in to finance a car. Gina Trees is very knowledgeable and kind. She took the time to break down what my options were and answered all my questions. I am amazed and thankful for her customer service and compassion. You don't come across genuine people like her often. May she be blessed!

This branch has such a toxic environment due to management and it is incredibly sad how they treat their employees. If you're looking to feel valued as an employee, appreciated, or want to advance in your career this company is not for you.

Gina Trees went above and beyond for us this Saturday. We were stuck in a bind trying to wire for our closing of our house and our bank is a sister credit union. She had nothing to gain by helping us but she patiently helped us.

I have been a member of Sound Credit Union (formerly Watermark/Seattle Telco) for over 38+ years. I have always experienced great customer service with them. I would like to give a big THANK YOU to Gina Trees at the Tukwila branch for always helping me with any and all of my banking needs. love love going here even if i have one by my apartment like literally just next to me. the vibe & the people here are just friendly & knowledgeable and will help you. specially to my favorite person GINA! woot woot! lol been with this bank ON & off and always coming back... service is excellent.

This is by far the worst branch for sound credit union I have ever went to, they have the most unreasonable policies and the most disrespectful staff. I had called to make an appointment on Monday to come in and refinance a loan, I had let them know that it will be two of us coming in for the appointment, they told me to come in the morning since it will be less people at the branch and they are trying to minimize the number of people due to COVID. I had to take the day off work for the appointment. Tuesday came around, my sister and I went in for our appointment and we were approached by one of the employees at the door. We noticed she already had a rude attitude but we didn't pay it any mind because we weren't there to make friends, we just wanted to handle our business and get out. We told her we were there for our appointment to refinance, as soon as we stepped foot inside she asked us who the refinance was for, I told her it was for my sister and before I could even get another word out she started barking at me to get out and leave. While she was telling me to leave another white women came in and it completely blew me away at how her attitude and demeanor completely changed to be more pleasant when she was talking to the other lady. however, she treated me and my sister in a completely different manner and belittled us before even speaking to us. During our encounter, without me even asking she says to me "you can't be here, you have to leave and I am the assistant branch manager" (almost as if she's implying that I can't do anything about the situation because of her job title). I was really baffled by her unprofessionalism and attitude. I remained calm and when she finally let me speak I told her our appointment is for two people and although we were following state and company COVID guideline according to their website I still tried to reason with her and said that in the case that it does get full in here I will leave (the place had no other customers when we walked in) she completely disregarded everything I told her and once again repeated, "you have to leave." Against my better judgement I went to this branch even though I heard so many negative things from friends and community members about the unprofessionalism and the way they were treated by the employees at this branch.
