Safeway at 520 Cleveland Ave SE in Tumwater, WA, offers a convenient and friendly grocery shopping experience. The store features a well-stocked bakery with customizable cakes, cupcakes, and fresh bagels that are highly praised for their quality and cleanliness. The deli provides a variety of party trays and made-to-order options, while the produce department boasts fresh fruits and vegetables, including strawberries, which staff members are eager to help locate. The butcher-block offers a selection of meats and seafood, with some locations even serving sushi. Customers appreciate the store's commitment to quick service through options like Grocery Delivery and DriveUp & Go™, making shopping faster and more convenient. In addition to groceries, Safeway includes a floral department with exclusive products, and its pharmacy is recognized for its speed, accuracy, and friendly staff, earning high praise from customers. The store's prices are considered reasonable, though some find them higher compared to local specialty markets like Spud's Produce Market, which offers a broader selection of local produce, craft brews, and artisanal goods. While the store provides helpful services and a clean environment, some customers note that overall prices are not the cheapest, and the store has a more corporate feel. Nonetheless, the pharmacy staff's professionalism and efficiency stand out as a major positive. Safeway remains a go-to spot for quick errands, basic groceries, and specialty items in the neighborhood.

I often have the feeling at Safeway, that staff has all recently emerged from a meeting at the back if the store where they are all screamed at and threatened to be fired. They are polite and helpful but always with a look of desperation somewhere behind the eyes. What really happens at Safeway? We may never know...
