I finally tried out the place that is recommended to all tourists if they want tamales. It's a small little hole in the wall. As someone that lives here, I will never go there again! Service was fast and friendly, but The tamales and especially the salsa were so bland and expensive. I got a dozen, half pork and half asparagus/pepper jack. The vegan one barely had any asparagus, or cheese, in it. They were basically seasoned masa with no flavor. The pork ones were a little better, smaller and fell apart. I stupidly bought salsa for the dry tamales and that was basically blended watered down pico de gallo. Overall, $45 is TOO EXPENSIVE for a dozen tamales with flavored water sauce. I wish I had gone to a different restaurant with better food, but everyone said they had good food here which is not the case.

A must stop if you’re going thru Yakima or union gap. Got a couple dozen just to tide me over until the next time I come through

Fun stop with great tamales. Everyone with a question was treated like they were the first person ever to enquire. Food is great. Small, quaint establishment. Everything was fresh.Vegetarian options: Cactus tamale and asparagus tamale are great.

Tiny little restaurant in a tiny little town. Drove 5 hrs to get authentic Tamales. Unfortunately they didn't have the asparagus one as it's a seasonal one and it wasn't in season yet. But tried the cactus and pork tamales. The cactus & pepper Jack I found a bit too dry for my taste. The pork one was much better. It was my first time ever trying Tamales, and I gotta admit it's one of those acquired taste foods. But the ladies at the restaurant were super friendly and great. For Tamales lovers I'd definitely recommend this place, they are worth the drive.

What can I say, amazing Tamales, more of a takeout kind of place. There are only 2 tables for dining in. Really authentic and delicious

A very small dining area and the service was ordinary. I had cactus, chicken, and pork tamales. I couldn't understand why a little case of salsa costs more than a tamale. Over $3. There are many restaurants in Yakima would happily provide fresh salsa as complimentary items

We love the authenticity of the tamales. We travel here a lot during the Asparagus season, for the seasonal tamales, when we are visiting family. Great price for the quality you get and the option for fresh or frozen is perfect for traveling.Parking: Street parking in front of the store front, gravel Parking lot next to the building and stalls off adjoining street.

This is an amazing little whole in the wall restaurant. Awesome service, very fast. Friendly and helpful staff. The food was delicious, I had the pork tamales. The rice and beans were fabulous as well. Tight and snuggle little dining room, it was perfect.

Fantastic tamales and friendly service. But we just paid $60 for two dozen tamales. Yikes! Save this one for an occasional splurge.

A quiet little tamale store, with incredibly friendly service, that just so happens to serve absolutely amazing Tamales.
