I've been an Orangetheory member for over 6 years and due to my profession have visited over 16 OTF studios across the US. I love OTF so much that I ALWAYS bring friends and even family with me to share the love and give them a glimpse of this great organization. However, I've been attending classes at University Place since early November 2023 and have brought two guests on two different occasions. Each time my guests were barely welcomed and not recognized or treated like they mattered. I thought the first time maybe it was just an off day. But tonight I brought my second guest and was again so disappointed in the coach for not making him feel welcomed. At the end of the class the coach made us wait 15 minutes while she had a casual conversation with another client who she appeared to be friends with. Ie, it was not his first time at the studio and he didn't need to wait around for her to explain results. Contrary to me and my guest, we had to wait for the coach to come explain the results on the OTV screen in reference to his heart rate and the arm band. I've never been so embarrassed to bring my friends and family to an OTF before. I will never bring anyone back to this OTF for their first time. My first friend refused to ever come back to OTF because of this treatment. These classes are EXPENSIVE!! We pay a LOT of money to have a fantastic experience. This is not the case at this OTF. I recommend to all newcomers to make your first OTF visit be at a more welcoming and friendly staffed OTF location. Otherwise you'll get a bad taste in your mouth. The coach treated my guest and I like we were actually putting her out by asking her to explain the results which is literally her job. So disappointed in this OTF. Coaches, DO BETTER !! It's disgraceful to treat people as if they don't matter. I brag so much about OTF but you all make me look bad. I'm officially embarrassed to say I attend OTF at University Place.

Great combination of cardio and strength training! Front desk staff and coaches have been super nice too. The music is fun and high energy. I thought it was going to be competitive because of the screens with peoples info (splat points, heart rate, calories burned, etc), but it really isn’t! Everyone is there just doing their own workout. It’s been a great addition to my weekly workout routine!

The disappointment of Coach Taylor and Coach Natalie being fired without a proper goodbye session for regulars. Additionally, I am not fond of the fact that the head coach, Gabe, and Coach Chelsee left. It appears that the stability and overall work environment may not be conducive to a healthy experience, which makes me hesitant to continue to support this Orange Theory.

I used to love the University Place Orange Theory. In fact, I was willing to go the extra mile, quite literally, by driving an additional five minutes to this location instead of the closer one in Tacoma. While it is widely known that the structure and format of the classes are consistent across all Orange Theory studios, what set University Place apart were the exceptional coaches. Among them were Coach Gabe (the head coach), Chelsee, Taylor, Natalie, and Katie. Their enthusiasm, just the right amount of levity, and motivational approach made every session. I particularly appreciated their warm and friendly demeanor, as they made every individual feel like a friend. However, my enthusiasm has been dampened by the recent departure of all the coaches, which has raised concerns about the stability and perhaps even toxicity of the work environment. It is quite unusual for three coaches to leave within weeks of one another, and even more concerning that four coaches have left within a few months. This situation has left a lasting impression on me, especially considering that some of them didn't even have the opportunity to bid farewell to their clients. Given that Orange Theory thrives on fostering a sense of community and camaraderie among its members, this lack of cohesion and continuity raises doubts about the competence of the owner, particularly in relation to the studio managers Tori. In addition, I would like to highlight another disheartening experience I had when attempting to express my concerns on social media. Unfortunately, my comments were swiftly deleted and removed without any acknowledgment or attempt to address the issues I raised. This lack of professionalism in handling customer feedback only serves to reinforce my apprehension towards the leadership and management of this particular Orange Theory Fitness establishment.I am disappointment in the management of this Orange Theory Fitness location. As a result, I have decided not to return here and would encourage others to explore alternatives such as the Gig Harbor or Tacoma branch instead.

HIIT training. Low impact, great for middle age or seniors. Guided hour long workout. Been a member for 2 years. Wife joined this year.

Great combination of cardio and strength training. The coaches are amazing, the small class sizes are perfect and the heart rate monitor is my own personal motivator.

Not my home studio, here for a visit. Coaches (I've had Natalie, Gabe and Taylor, all very energetic and encouraging!!!) and front staff (Brittnie has been the main lady I've seen at check-in, a sweetie) are all wonderful, and the studio is clean!!! ONLY gripe is there are no mints at the front desk like my home studio (habit for the tread portion) LOLOLOL. Seriously, great place to work out. I've been doing Orangetheory since January, an hour of working hard, and I am done. You get a mix of cardio, rowing and weights. It's worth the money!!

The classes are challenging and fun! The instructors are motivating and keep an eye on everyone. I was comfortable learning the equipment and the floor exercises and gently encouraged to push a little harder to get me to my goals! I am going to continue attending classes. Its fun!

I went there this passed Friday for their free 1st time class. Signed up immediately after. I had so much fun and was surprised and proud that despite the fact that im not the most fit person in the class I'm still able to keep up with the movements and enjoy myself. Coach Natalie is so nice and was happy to correct me when i seemed lost, and motivated me while I was on the treadmill. If you come to class I HIGHLY recommend you do additional stretches, because, my lord, I was feeling it EVERYWHERE the next day.Excited for my noon class today!

The coaches and staff here are amazing! I never thought I would find a workout program that would help me as much as Orangetheory has!! Also, I have met so many great people who workout here that help motivate me everyday to be a better version of myself and keep pushing!

A little on the pricy side but any HIIT class, style gym is going to be about the same amount. That’s the end of anything negative I have to say about OTF. The coaches, staff, and other members are nothing but good vibes and motivation. Booking through the app is simple, and just everything about it has made it really easy for me to stay consistent with my visits for the last 6 months. The 3-4 classes a week I attend have given me more strength, energy, endurance, and mobility.

They were helpful over the phone scheduling, but didn’t communicate that we would be turned away for arriving 15 minutes in advance rather than 30 minutes in advance of class. My partner was trying OT for the first time. We were really looking forward to it. I have done Orange Theory at other locations and was not turned away for a similar arrival time for my first class. I know that the actual orientation takes much less than 30 minutes. We drove all the way there and ran late because of the snow! Wouldn’t want to go to a studio that can’t give grace in situations like these—working out should be fun!

I’m addicted to this place. LOVE the workouts, the variety, and the convenience of not having to come up with my own workout program - I just show up and I know I’ll get strength training and cardio mixed in over an hour long workout. Highly recommend!!
