“I competed at Curtis High School for my school (Shorewood High School) as part of a high school girls water polo tournament in approximately 2009. It was my first water polo tournament between different schools. The school was straightforward to find as was parking. The pool deck was well designed for hosting a water polo tournament and the locker room was easy to navigate and located in close proximity to the pool deck. Tournament workers were friendly and very clear in communicating. Overall the high school did a great job hosting the event.”

“We are very happy with Cadence Academy. We only have experience with the infant room, but our experience has been incredibly positive. The teachers are very communicative and helpful. They really care about the development and welfare of the kids in their care. As a first time patent, having that partnership is so important. Our little one adjusted easily and loves the teachers. I also appreciate the communication we get from the directors. Great experience.”

“This daycare exceeded our expectations and our toddler learned so much while she was there. The staff is wonderful and truly cared about taking good care of all children there. They also work with military assistance fee programs, which is so much appreciated. If you are in search of an educational daycare, do not overlook this gem!”

“Never could of imagined these people/this family would make such a positive impact in my life and most of all my kiddos life!!! He loves it so much!!! Thank you multi cultural!!!! Every kid has a bong with each teacher and every teacher with each kid! They take time for every single kid for every situation! Every issue I have I know I can go to them for advice and I do all the time! Just an amazing staff! It’s not a staff it’s a family! A huge family I can’t imagine my kid going anywhere else. I moved out of the school district and I drive my kid all the way there just to be at this daycare!!!”

“My son just started going here and my wife and I absolutely love it. I don't understand how someone could give them a negative rating. The way I see them handle my son puts me at ease every time I drop him off. We appreciate them and we know our son appreciates them as well. Thank you KinderCare!”

“Hello, my name is (Id rather not let the schools know). I went to Browns point Elementary K-5 and loved it there. I made lots of friends that are still here today and enjoyed actually going to school. But that was just back then. Im now in 7th grade and my sister goes there at the moment. The amount of fun i had there dropped from a 10 to a 0. When I went there, we had plenty of things, such as, Dance a Thon, Costume Party on Halloween, Camp Seymour. Now all of that is just trash or gone. Dance a thon went from an hour and a half, to 30 minutes. Camp Seymour I heared is now taken away, Costume Party gone, etc.If I were there now, I'd Rally a protest to bring everything back. Also another sad thing (not sure if its fully gone), was rope climbing. Our PE teacher used to teach us how to rope climb incase of any emergancy situation. Now thats gone.My teachers were amazing. I wont tell all of their names but I would like to mention one in particular. Mrs.Walter, she was the nicest teacher I have ever had but she sadly quit her job. She was kind, caring, and just someone I would never forget.Until the school learns to even fun and Dissapointment, this school is just a painting. It gets so good that you mess up.I will be rating this 4 star only because that is what I would rate it back then. At the moment it is a 2 star.”

“My children have had a wonderful experience at Harbor Montessori. Both children started attending while still toddlers. The toddler program provides a calm, safe, loving environment where children learn social skills and independence. Potty training was a breeze with the help of the toddler teachers. The primary program (ages 3-6) also has been fantastic. Children have a great number of learning options available to them in the classroom. Materials are rotated regularly to ensure that interest is maintained throughout the year. The classrooms are calm and inviting. I really can't imagine a better way for children to learn.Harbor Montessori also provides a lot of great options for parents who only want part-time care or require full-time care. For the quality of care given and the number of hours that are available, this is a great value.”

“I almost got shot up attending this school this school 6 years ago, there was a man in front of the entrance threatening to come in with a gun, fortunately he went away and never got into the school. At the time the whole school was in a lockdown and the situation was handled in a calm fashion that the school should be acknowledged for. The kids at my experience here when younger in 2nd grade were pretty well behaved, in the morning it's very packed in the lunchroom and almost no where to sit at least when I attended 6 years ago. Overall my experience at the school was joyful.”

“Being in the military, my boys have been to 4 schools in the last 6 years due to the school system set up or due to our own decision to move them out of one school to another. There also seem to be several other reviews here, however, only 1 seems to be visible. I hope whoever reads this finds it useful in your decision on whether or not to send your kids to this school. My wife and I come from a Catholic family and both have grown up attending Catholic schools from elementary to high school so we both understand and value what a Catholic Education provides. This is also the primary reason why we moved from Dupont to Gig Harbor-we stumbled into this town while exploring the area one weekend. We first found the church appealing but my wife started researching the school and one day decided to drive up here and visit the school with our boys (I was away on business at the time). After she told me about her experience, I went for myself. My initial thoughts was that it was a small campus but while small, I found the staff and teachers very friendly and the kids were very polite-something I hadn't seen since the last Catholic school the boys attended back in Hawaii. At that point we decided to send the boys there-we just needed to move to GH. After having the boys here for the first year at this school, I am both deeply grateful and highly impressed with the teachers and the staff. Here's why: After 2 yrs in Dupont, my eldest son moved schools 2x-due to the set up of the school district but in both of those cases, he was a B average, though he was an A average in Hawaii. The teachers here truly opened up his aperture to learn and he has taken a 180' turn and made straight A's. My youngest was an average student who had a need for tutoring during his 3rd grade year in Dupont; after his first year at St Nic's, he ended his year with a B+ average and actually remembers and is enthusiastic about learning. The teachers and staff are truly dedicated to their students and are very responsive to the parents. The principal has an open door policy to everyone and does a fantastic job in keeping the parents informed (due to COVID, she's done several Zoom calls). The parents are so warm and inviting. They have a initial new parents' picnic, about the weekend prior to the first day of school. There is also a Facebook group for all the parents that helps all of us stay current on what's going on in the school. They have a lot of events and fundraisers some of which will require parent's involvement, but, that is normal for Catholic schools as they want the parents involved in as many activities as possible. Although I could say more about Saint Nicholas, I encourage you to visit the school, meet the teachers, and judge for yourself. The small class size allows for more teacher/student interaction as well as provides opportunities for more 1-1 instruction if needed. You will not regret the level of education they provide to the students; you will cherish the relationships you will build with the parents, and hopefully, see the value and impact this school will have not only your kids but on you as well.”

“Our daughter grew up in the daycare, the early and late hours really helped us through the tough working schedules. She was well cared for, the daycare now has fully updated with newer toys and rooms, staff are communicative with our needs and kiddo's status. “First school I went to from 91-94. Had Mrs. Jordan in Kindergarten, Mrs. Perkins in 1st and Ms. Cesario in 2nd. Was there for about a month of 3rd grade before moving but forget the name of the teacher. Some of my favorite school memories happened at Downing.”

“My child attended Trinity Lutheran's Childcare, Preschool and Pre-K program. The Director is one of the nicest ladies and you can tell she genuinely cares for all of the kiddos. They did lots of fun projects, field trips, visits from the fire department and my son was more than prepared to start school with everything they were taught. I highly recommend Trinity.”

“We are beyond happy with KinderCare- Gig Harbor. We were nervous about putting our son in daycare at 4 months old, but have had such a great experience. The director, Aniscia works tirelessly to keep that center running smoothly and has been very responsive to us. She’s there to greet us every morning and is amazing with our little guy. He’s a tough little one at times, but she shows so much grace and patience. His teacher, Hannah is wonderful too. She’s definitely a natural and super attentive toward all of the infants in her classroom. She’s warm, caring, and seems to really be invested in her work. The assistant director, Erin and all of the teachers I’ve met who take care of our son periodically have been great as well (too many to name!). Such a hardworking group of women, I can’t say enough good things about them all. The center is always clean too which is a bonus. Definitely recommend!”
