I rarely choose to write reviews, let alone 1 star reviews, but I felt like I have to mention this. I have had a pinched nerve in my neck for a few months now and decided to finally try a chiropractor again. I can’t remember which chiropractor “adjusted” my neck, but please teach that person how to speak to patients. I also work in healthcare, but I don’t gaslight my patients and dismiss how they feel by acting like I know more than they do about their own pain. I know the difference between new and old pain, so I just needed the pinched nerve in my neck to be relieved, not told that I should come back multiple times for an “adjustment.” I understand this is a business, but I don’t need to be roped into a monthly plan when I know I don’t need it. Regardless, when I said I don’t want to come back multiple times, the chiropractor became dismissive and refused to listen to what I had to say about MY own pain. Then told me that if I don’t come back multiple times, the pain will come back. Once again, didn’t listen to my complaints or ask about my history. It’s my own fault for even letting him adjust my neck because I left with more pain than I walked in with, and $29 less. Receptionist was very nice, but that is not enough for me to return to this clinic.

My daughter n i have been seeing Dr huy n his team since my daughter was 3 months old. The experience has been great. We always look forward to our weekly adjustments.

Very minimalistic, rushed adjustment. Felt rushed and that provider didn’t take time for a full adjustment. I’ve had better experiences with other providers at The Joint.

First visit at The Joint. Never had a chiropractor use the activator tool opposed to manual adjustment. I never knew it was an option. Dr Huy was nice but came across as if I was just another number not a patient. The appt was very rushed through. He didn’t care much about why I needed adjusting just more like let me do a quick adjustment with a new tools and didn’t explain the tool when asked just that’s what he used. Thank goodness for Google. He was kind just very rushed. And I’ve had two doctors and three chiropractors across the USA tell me my right leg is 1/4-1/2” shorter than left leg…. He INSISTED that was wrong and my left leg is 1/2” shorter than my right. When I explained that I’ve had five other professionals tell me opposite and I can feel physically when standing which is shorter he didn’t acknowledge what I said and just repeated the left leg is the shorter one. I know treatments should be quick but also they should help or make you feel not clueless when you leave. I went the same week days later to the Seattle location and wow what a difference. They do manual adjustments and Dr Huy does adjustments with activator tool since he isn’t able to perform manual adjustments. That are knew it was my second visit and gave me so much information and guess what THAT dr said like the other five that it was my RIGHT LEG that is shorter not my left. I left feeling ten times better both physically and mentally. I wouldn’t NOT recommend the University Place location as your first few times, but I also wouldn’t go unless you are used to and ok with activator adjustments and you already know tons about chiropractic care. Remember not every patient is neurotypical. Yet at this place I felt like I was just an item on an assembly line. I’ve since been to other The Jojnts and not had the same experience thankfully that I did here. Their website should express that dr Huy ONLY uses his activator tool and does no manual adjustments so people can avoid if the prefer manual. If both drs were there together so you had a choice it might be better but that doesn’t seem to be the case. I felt like I was jsut another notch on the days belt, I felt like he truly didn’t listen and was just trying to get through a spiel, basically told me I’m wrong (without saying) about which of My legs is the shorter one. If he listened he would know why I know which one is shorter and how it happened. He was more focused on writing up my script for a Wellness plan and sending me on my way. Hope this review helps others and I hope this review helps Dr Huy see that he should be making some changes in how he works and treats patients, especially new ones. A little compassion goes a long way, I’m a nurse, I know all about how listening and compassion and caring help people every day.
