Today, I went to Banfield Vets, inside Pet Smart located on 78th street in Vancouver. I was not acknowledged nor did your associates look up to notice I was there. One associate was with a customer, the other station had a patron, but no associate. Finally after around 15 minutes, I was helped.I had a prescription for my dogs food and was told they keep all prescription dog food on a shelf and pointed to the direction of the dog food. This is the 1st Banfield Vets I've ever been to where prescription food is not locked away.I stood looking for the food for 3 to 5 minutes before I found the right food.At check out, there was a large line as they only had one clerk. Finally opening up another checkout counter, the cashier took a box which had been sitting there, threw it over into the next unattended check out counter, and wanted to know if I was next. She recounted an incident of another customer yelling at her because someone cut in line. I paid for the dog food and left vowing to never come back to this store.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. They double charged me for a bunch of things, refused to fix it, and then continued to call me and try to sell me more overpriced medicine that is not necessary for my dogs' health.Their health plans cover nothing, but you are unable to cancel, even if your pet dies. They have no regard for the health of your pet, they are only concerned with milking you for all the money they can possibly get out of you. I refuse to take my pet there ever again.

Great deal for the price. Get your babies checked out for a low monthly fee and make sure they are covered and up to date with all their shots and dental needs. Plus if they need to be seen for non emergency needs throughout the month, they can. Just go online and book from the many locations and times that fit your needs. Thx Banfield!

Don't go here. The wellness plan is a complete scam.

Banfield really makes it difficult to buy prescription foods from Petsmart. On more than a handful of occasions I’ve been turned away bc the petsmart employee is so scared of making a mistake that they just don’t sell me the food. This time it was that I couldn’t buy a different brand of the same formula. What am I supposed to do if you’re out? Am I really supposed to have an RX card for EVERY brand you carry? That’s not even a thing for human medications. Pharmacies will gladly substitute other brands. Banfield needs to RELAX on petsmart employees. It’s really, truly, not that big of a deal.

Brought my cat Max for surgery to remove a large tumor that turned out to be benign, thank GOD! He healed well and is doing fine.

Sick of never being able to get an appointment when I need it. Staff never calls back. Not sure what I'm paying for.

Enjoyed the service and the commitment that each person I dealt with today showed. I felt as though they are very sincere in providing a good service which I received today.

I’ve been coming to this location for several years and their staff are constantly revolving. I understand a lot of new veterinarians/techs are fresh out of school, but they really need to be trained better and consider their approach. This random veterinarian told me my dog needed to be sedated and muzzled because they couldn’t handle him for some reason. This is the first time in 6 years I’ve heard this and had this encounter at a drop off appointment. To note we’ve done drop off appointment since the pandemic, but prior to drop offs we’ve always attend in room visits. We decided to go to the salmon creek location where they literally performed a rectum exam with no issues at all when my husband held my dog (typical of an in office visit). With lack of knowledge/education, training and wait times I don’t think l’ll be returning to this location.

Never answer the phone and I scheduled a puppy exam and when I went they never had it. Very short staffed and rude and do not call back for messages you leave. Unprofessional.

My dog had heart worms so I was in at this and other Banfield locations A LOT. the vet and the techs were always really nice and I do believe they cared about my dog but, omg every time in went in the treatment plan was different. At certain points I was literally coming in the next day as shots had to be timed a certain way and the plan (and cost) would be different depending on who was treating my dog. Some one actually said to me sorry the notes in here are terrible.... More then once. I won't be going back and now I'm stuck in this dumb year long payment plan for a service that was over priced anyways. I just took my dog to another vet and she had to be sedated and it was half the price even with my premium wellness plan. Don't get caught there is a reason they have openings.

I have not gone to this Bandfield in a long time.I am not a fan of Bandfield because of how I was treated when my dog died.I was at the PetSmart at 78th and Hazel Dell Ave getting things for our new puppy.

They had to reschedule the same appointment 3 different times. One of the times I didn't find out until I had already brought my screaming cat (hates car rides and scared of new places) into their location. They said that the vet was actually not available for the times they had agreed to see me.It is no fault of one individual employee, it is the fault of whoever manages this location/the model of the company. Its been 5 months since I tried to bring my cat in, so now he is late on required vaccines.I find this to be a waste of time, disrespectful and really unprofessional.

A bit late but I wanted to share the good experience I had at this banfield location.Last year my dog had to be euthanized. He was becoming ill from complications of his cognitive disorder. No other vet offices, including his long term banfield office, felt that it was concerning, but I did. When I called this office, they immediately set up a day to get him in later that week and when we arrived they were exceptionally kind.I cannot remember the vets name, but she was compassionate beyond belief. She listened, she was honest about his outcome. When we decided on euthanasia, it was the kindest experience it could be. She allowed us to pay beforehand, so we didn't have to focus at the end. We were given time at every step, and he passed peacefully and quietly. They let him take his favorite blanket back after he passed, which was comforting. We ended up leaving a little bit after they closed, and they didn't say a single thing about it, just told us we were okay to go and offered condolences. A few weeks later we recieved a card in the mail. The whole experience was incredible compassionate, and if this is how they handle pets in their passing, I can imagine it's a great place to bring a pet during their living. I greatly recommend this vet office and will return in the future for wellness care of new pets.
