I absolutely love this shop! I've driven down from Seattle just to be able to shop in-store. The atmosphere is incredible! I love the diversity in sustainable and local options for purchase here! LOVE their bulk refill options. They have a lot of different products you don't normally see at zero waste stores.

10/10This is the best zero-waste store in Vancouver!! They have quality products and people. I stop in monthly to get all my home supplies, and I am never disappointed. Keep up the great work, Kindred!! <3

Alex, the shop owner and their staff have the most genuine and heartfelt care for their customers. I have never visited a shop just to visit with the employees. I have driven across town almost every weekend just to come in and see what’s new in the shop, the community, and with the staff. The shop’s motto, come as you are, is taken extremely seriously and I have always felt welcome here. I also love how this team is always looking for new ways to improve the community and create access for so many people. Favorite store and team in the area by far!

It’s ridiculous that I haven’t given Kindred a review yet.If you live here or are just visiting, come. Kindred is the nicest homegoods store in all of Vancouver, and the quality is incredible. Even if you’ve got everything you want or need, it’s always fun browsing.

Regrettably, my experience at Kindred fell short of expectations. Despite the substantial investment I made during my visit, the customer service left much to be desired. It was disheartening to witness a staff member more engrossed in her phone than assisting patrons. In light of these circumstances, I found it challenging to justify the shop's reputation and pricing.Would not recommend to anyone.

I so very much love Kindred and the folks who work there. I am not able to get there very often, probably once every few months, but each time things are a little bit better (and it started out pretty great to begin with). Love the availability of bulk home goods that you can put in your own containers; they've made that process so darn easy with a smart chip that you use to tare the weight of your container before filling it. I hope their bulk section continues to grow!

I love this store and have shopped here several times because I love the affordability and the selection of the bulk section. I especially like the tea and household cleaning items. I also have always experienced very positive interactions with the staff. They are so friendly and helpful. However, unfortunately today was different.I was getting some items from the bulk section and was approached by a male staff member, who asked if I had weighed the jars that I was filling. I said no, and explained they were jars from the store and showed him they already have the weight written on the bottom. (On a previous visit, another staff member kindly showed me that they mark the weight on the jars they provide.) I also had 2 jars I brought with me (Ball, wide mouth) that were exactly the same ounces and brand as the marked one from the store. He behaved as if he hadn't heard anything I just said and told me he could show me how easy it was to weigh the jars. I explained I knew how to do this.Again, he acted as if I hadn't said anything and went on to tell me how much easier it was for everybody if I would just weigh the jars. Then he demonstrated the process to me which I already knew and patronizingly said, "See how easy that is?"I got tired of the power struggle and not being heard. Honestly, I wanted to leave but complied because I love the store and I want to support their mission. He responded with "Thank you" in a tone and finally left me alone. It was ironic because when I took the items up to the register, the process that was supposed to be "easier for everyone" didn't work anyway. Two of the exact same jars with the same bulk product came up with vastly different prices--$5 and $20.The woman that was helping me check out kindly gave me the lower price and apologized for the confusion. Maybe she could give some lessons to the male staff member.I will still come back but sincerely hope I don't on a day he's working.

Such a cute place selling cute gifts I did not know I needed.Discover this during the Vancouver flea market day and walked in out of a whim. There is a table in front offering free bags (bag swap) and every nook and corner were well decorated tables of vintage looking, cute gifting items. My partner and I ended up spending full 30 minutes discovering random things in the store. I love the artsiness of the place and could have spent another hour here.

Last year I bought a compost container and was asking Alex for some help and she said that it was too wet and then she gave me a bunch of cardboard to cut up and put into my compost container. I’ve been there a few times because the things are expensive, but I still like it a lot. This place has a wide variety of items that are in different prices and for different needs and they try very very very hard to have little to no waste. They even use a paper-based tape. I just called and asked about some sprouts that are really leggy and I don’t want them to die but I don’t know what to do with them because I can’t fix them. And they’re just so kind and are always willing to give information and resources and I wish there were more places like this around Vancouver.

This place is great for buying handmade household items. You can also buy materials to make items yourself. High recommend the shower steam rounds!

I love the stuff they have and I’ve probably spent a couple grand in here, but the service is awful. I will keep buying goods from here so we can keep upgrading the downtown and they don’t go out of business, but honestly so rude. Could care less if you come back is the feeling. Right up the street is Wild Fern and they are so friendly and welcoming, appreciative of the business.

This is a cute homegoods store. They have a lot of fun gifts and good sustainable living items. The bottom floor is a space for artisans to sell their items. It is a bit pricey but seems like everything is handpicked and tends to favor smaller businesses so it's justified.

Got a lot of tops that fit for free. Being tall can be hard at times to shop at any retail cloth stores.. can be a challenge for 6ft woman. Glad I visited this place found it on Facebook under event section. Very clean and friendly staff members. Yes they have fitting rooms which is a big bonus. :)
