I recently visited the toy section at Macy's with the intention of purchasing a single toy. While browsing, I noticed signage promoting a “Buy 2, Get 2 Free” deal on select items. Wanting to take advantage of the offer, I carefully chose four toys that were clearly placed under those promotional tags—a process that took me over 30 minutes.
However, when I got to the checkout counter, I was told that the items I selected did not qualify for the promotion. The staff explained that the tags had likely been moved by another customer and that they couldn’t honor the deal. There was no attempt to help resolve the issue or provide any alternative.
It was a very frustrating experience. As a customer, it’s confusing and disappointing to be misled by in-store signage, only to be turned away at the register without support. I hope Macy’s improves how promotions are managed on the floor and trains staff to better assist in situations like this.

They are misrepresenting gold jewelry. I bought 2 pieces that Macys employees misrepresented the weight by 5 times more than the actual weight. They are also selling hollow gold as solid. Buyer beware!

It’s no wonder that Macy’s is going out of business. Customer service is nonexistent. I was told to take my issue to ‘the store’ By online customer support and told by the store to contact online. It’s been an incredible pain to try and make a return. And one of the items was an expensive ice cream that ended up dehydrating my eyes horribly. They won’t take it back because the package has been opened. Compare that to any other beauty product company – Nordstrom, blue Mercury, Sephora, even Ulta- They all will accept a return within 30 days if something does not work out.

I started off having a bad experience due to the fact that I parked directly in front of one of Macy's entrances because of a rainy day. It was fine up until I walked through the mall and when they closed, unfortunately they closed the Macy's door that was connected to the mall. I wasn't aware they would close the Macy's door because Macy's was open for another hour. My wife and I were stuck walking through the rain to get to our car on the other side of Macy's. I wasn't happy about that. We weren't prepared because we thought we were going to use the same entrance that we came in. I spoke to Amy, one of Macy's managers and she was extremely polite and sympathetic. She also gave me an umbrella that was especially appreciated. She informed me that the Mall closed their doors as well at closing time because they didn't want to use more security for Macy's entrance after the mall closed. Thanks again Amy for ensuring that your customers walk away with a pleasant experience.
