First, I want to say that God bless these wonderful people. Chris and the people who helps him, by giving them strength to continue rescuing parrots and finding them caring and loving homes. Chris is an amazing human being with such a big loving heart who helps those birds in need. I saw with my own eyes how hard Chris works to take care of the "Northwest Parrot Rescue " We had such a great experience during our parrots adoption process. If you're thinking about adopting a bird please check with Northwest Parrot Rescue. They have so many birds that need loving homes. Chris has so much knowledge about birds and he will help you find the perfect bird for your family. Thank you to Northwest Parrot Rescue (Chris) for such a great experience. We're in love with our parrots.

I am so happy to have researched bird/ parrot rescues in the NW and found Northwest Parrot Rescue. The website provides a great amount of information on parrots and how to care for them.In my research, I also found Valentine a beautiful Greenwing Macaw through Northwest Parrot Rescue. Just as it states on the application I was called within 24 hours by Chris and he arranged for me to meet Valentine a beautiful gentle giant. Chris spent two hours with me and Valentine. I learned a great deal in those two hours about Valentine's history and care. I also got to meet some of the other beautiful parrots that Chris has rescued. He has a beautiful set up and the amount of love he has for these birds is very clear.Chris delivered Valentine to me on Monday evening and I could not believe the care package that came with Valentine. The package included everything I needed to take care of Valentine. It included a beautiful cage, a beautiful T stand, manzanita perches, information books (on macaws, training, and nutrition), several different types of parrot seed, pellets, Nutriberries, fresh vegetable and fruit chop, birdie toast makings, a camera for me to use to watch valentine while at work, a Magic Bullet blender to help me in making fresh chop, and an automatic mister to use for bathing Valentine.Valentine is settling in and is becoming a wonderful addition to our family. Thank you Chris!

Please donate to NW PARROT RESCUE. Please adopt a parrot only if you’re seriously able and don’t buy babies or encourage breeding! There are many more parrots than humans who can properly keep them. Having parrots all my life has been such a joy. My goal has been to educate people on what it actually requires and why so many birds need people like Chris Driggins. These large birds are so intelligent and they require attention and care like a child who never grows up. They will likely outlive you even if you were only in your 20’s when you adopted them. I have aged beyond my ability to continue to care for my 2 beloved cockatoos whom I’ve had for over 25 years. They are the last of perhaps 50 parrots that I have had, all rescues; second, third + chance birds. I knew I would be calling Chris someday and emergency heart surgery was the tipping point. Chris is the best of the best. He’s the only person who a fellow bird person could ever possibly surrender her most beloved feathered kids to. Chris came yesterday to pick them up. The tears are real and it’s going to take time. This evening Chris emailed me telling me how they’re doing. This busy man never stops or even pauses his dedication to think of himself. The mission IS what Chris gives himself to 24/7. His popularity is because he’s so passionate and genuine. He attracts what we admire most in a person… Integrity, sincerity, kindness, passion and purpose. My debt to Chris and his staff will never be repaid in full. He’s taken over the care of my kids when I finally had to let go. I’m confident that Chris will find loving homes for them as they go on well after I’m gone. That is the hard reality of loving a parrot. Please donate to Chris Driggins and NW Parrot Rescue. Please be responsible pet owners. Thank you Chris Driggins.

I'm so happy with my little rescue bird Layla. She's a lovely little Quaker Parakeet. Chris was at NWPR was wonderful to work with. He was very thorough in making sure that Layla and I would be a good fit. When we went to his rescue to meet Layla, it was so obvious that he truly loves these birds and spoils them completely. When he came to our home for the home visit and to bring Layla to us, he came prepared with a bird, two cages, a large box of food and toys. Everything we would need to help make Layla feel at home. If you are interested in adopting a bird, this is your best resource... I would recommend them wholeheartedly.

As a first time cockatoo mom, I’m really thankful to have found northwest parrot rescue. I’ve had problem adopting a rescue parrot bc of my lack of bird experience, but Chris found me a bird that is gentle, small and easy to handle.Chris is extremely caring and knowledgeable, all the birds are super happy over there and love to be around him. I can see how he dedicates his life to take care of these birds making sure they go to a good owner. After adopting Daisy (now named momo) Chris followed up with a call asking how she is settling in, whenever I have a question, he is always more than happy to answer, at the same time encourage me that I’m doing well.Momo is now slowly settling in, and I see her getting happier everyday. Thank you Chris for finding me a lifelong companion, I cannot be more thankful to have met you and be the last mom of Momo. ❤️

My husband and I lost our African Grey parrot recently and were heartbroken by her loss. We had loved our little rescue and wanted to help out another so we looked at Northwest Parrot Rescue. After multiple phone conversations with Chris "Birdman" Driggins, we were guided to a 30-year old Timneh by the name of Freckles who had been recently surrendered. Freckles turned out to be the perfect bird for us. During the adoption process, we were impressed by the diligence that Chris displayed in making sure that Freckles would be a good match and that we would be good "parents". Chris obviously cares deeply for his rescues and goes out of his way to see that they end up in the right home. He spent a good deal of time giving us comprehensive advice on diet, general care, introduction to a new environment and specifics about Freckles' likes and dislikes. We were lucky to meet Chris face-to-face and see the rescue operation. It's obvious that all of the rescues are extremely well cared for by the crew at NWPR and we couldn't be more satisfied. Chris was also very generous in supplying us with Freckles' cage, lots of parrot food, three bird carriers (including one for our Caique), a sprayer, a blender, multiple food and water bowls and even a TP-Link pet monitor camera.Whether you are looking to place a parrot or adopt one, I couldn't recommend NWPR more highly. There is no substitute for people who are passionate, knowledgeable, dedicated and conscientious in the care of our parrot companions.

My husband and I could not be happier with our experience at Northwest Parrot Rescue! Chris, Garthe and all of his volunteers do amazing work! Thank you for being able to sit down and take the time needed for me to gather as much information about Baby's routine, what music she likes, and so on. She is the perfect addition to our family!Mathew and I are so thankful for having a great experience, being set up for success, and all around the care that is clearly shown through Baby herself! She is slowly coming out of her shell, acclimating to our every day life and curious about everything around her! She is our forever baby! I must say, what a joy to talk over the phone at any time with you, Chris! You are very punctual with your daily routine and with how many birds and people you take care of daily! You made us feel comfortable by giving us your full undivided attention. He truly cares about these beautiful animals who deserve to have their forever homes!Thank you,Mathew & Tristan VanKlaveren

I can't thank Chris enough. He runs a very well organized and clean Facility. When I contacted him about an adoptable bird he talked to me and went through what day to day in our household entails to make sure we adopted the right bird. To be as busy as he is and to take the amount of time he did spoke volumes to me. When we went to meet JP I was quite impressed with how clean and well put together his Facility is. Chris is top notch and lives for these Parrots. He has an amazing Meet and Greet area and gives you a thorough education on what all it takes to take care of these babies. We spent hours with him going through the checklists and huge care package to make sure JP was going to have a smooth transition from his care to ours. He truly has gone above and beyond what I would have expected. JP was set up with toys, food, snacks, treats, cage, Perches, Playstand, and we were given educational books, and he even gave us extra playstands for our other birds! Chris is truly First Class A+++ with his Customer Service, Love, and Care of the birds. If you want to get a bird or are thinking about it NW Parrot Rescue is the only place to go. I am confident with as well kept and clean as the Sanctuary is that we got a well rounded, happy, and healthy bird. Thank you Chris for all you do! I look forward to coming back to visit and see the amazing outdoor Aviary when it's done. The birds are going to be over the moon!

Chris is an absolute rock star, and we feel so blessed to have just happened to move local to him in a time in our lives when we had to make the excruciating decision to find a new home for Spencer, our African Grey. We could not have done this without Chris' help. From the very first call, we knew we were making the right decision, even if it was the hardest one we ever had to make.Chris asked countless detailed questions about Spencer's likes and dislikes, routine, history, husbandry, right down to which grocery store we purchase his mandarins in, all just to make the transition easier for our little man. It was so impressive, and reassuring.I won't bore everyone with long details about the whole process, but I will sum it up by saying that Chris is the most knowledgeable and caring bird dude you could ever hope for, and super friendly and kind and patient and willing to keep you up to date on everything, and somehow he seems to work about 40 hours a day for his feathered family. If I could choose, I would want Spencer to remain in his care forever! :) but I know that Chris has a great process in place when looking for new homes and I trust that he will find Spencer just what he needs. We will forever be in debt to Chris and his organization for taking care of our feathered kid and transitioning him into a better, happier period of his life. We miss Spencer every day, but our heart is still warm knowing he is having a great time in his new environment, with new friends, wonderful food, and time out of his cage again. If you need to rehome your friend, or if you are looking to provide a home for a new friend, don't hesitate to contact Northwest Parrot Rescue and Chris. Thank you so much!

Our family adopted a beautiful eclectus from Northwest Parrot Rescue. What an impressive organization. I think that there can be few people more dedicated to the welfare of these birds than Chris. The amount of time he spends caring for these birds, screening potential homes, and planning out the best situations for each individual bird is amazing! From the initial meet and greet with the bird, through the home visit and class, to follow-up phone calls, Chris is full of information and help. Our parrot came to us with a cage, new perches, at least six months of food, toys, an electronic mister, a blender for preparing her foods, and a security camera, among other things. I am so happy that the perfect bird for our family was placed with us.

We had a great time adopting our African grey. We had quite a drive to get there and Chris was very sweet and accommodating. We left feeling totally prepared in supplies and information for how to get her adapted to her new home. We were thrilled that Chris is a man of high ethical integrity and very clearly cares so much for getting these birds properly placed. Thanks!

I am absolutely blown away by the attention to detail and love this place puts into their adoption process. We brought home the sweetest Cockatoo who took to our home and family right away. We were not only sent home with her but a care package above and beyond expectations. With pounds and pounds of food, brand new blender, security camera, books, the list goes on. Chris has a passion for parrots unlike anyone I have ever met. What an amazing program and cause!!

I was contacted by the parrot rescue on an ad I had posted out, I have received more help than I could ever ask for, more help than I did ask for; and I could not be more thankful for all of it. The rescue had helped me to get the birds in a more suitable cage, got them toys for stimulation, and really great snacks to help me kick-start getting them into a healthy diet. I have inherited 2 birds and was beside myself on what to do, I had always been interested in having birds, but had never felt it was something that I would ever do, or would ever happen to me- but one night, they just fell into my lap. I have felt so lucky to have them, and to feel confident in the care I am giving them, all because of the rescue! They have really taught me about portions, and the variety of foods birds should have, which was all really new and surprising- but between the PDFS/links on their website, and the hands on help I received, I know I am feeding them good. Not only did my birds come in cages that were too small, rusted, and filthy, but they obviously needed grooming, never having birds before I was unaware of what that really entailed, but Teri not only explained everything to me, but she helped me in getting them all groomed up. She was so amazing with handling the birds (who I can not get to step-up, and bite at me,) had no problem stepping up for her. I was nervous, but Teri was extremely patient with me, as well as the birds. I was amazed with how well Teri trimmed down my amazons beak, she has made it a whole world more comfortable for him, and he has been eating better since seeing her! She can work with the meanest of birds, and make them behave. I can not thank this organization enough for all their help, not only for the birds, but for me as well. They have made my birds comfortable, healthier, and happier, and they have made me feel thousands of times better about the care I am giving the birds.
