We finally quit shopping at this location because the check-out process has become ridiculous. First, they closed all of the self-check lanes at the west end of the store, then they closed half of the self-check lanes at the east end of the store, then they closed the remaining self-check lanes. That would have been ok if they had enough checkers, but they don't!. Now, instead of taking a few minutes to check out, it takes more than 10 minutes. Fred Meyer, here we come. Tim

Why let someone check in on the app for a pickup if you’re gonna make them wait over half an hour for it. Even after calling. I get it if you’re short staffed but at least be courteous over the phone especially if i am being nice. Or tell me it’s gonna take a while before you even get to me. Can’t ask much from most of today’s min wage workforce I guess.

I rate this Walmart average. This store is extremely busy most days. I think this is due to the fact that the only other grocery store within close proximity is Safeway, and their prices can be steep.I've noticed this Walmart doesn't do the best at keeping items stocked. There have been numerous times where I've been looking for something they are out of. Also good luck finding help (or any employee for that matter) in electronics or in the home/automotive section. Once I needed to get vacuum refills in the home dept which were locked up, and I had to walk down to electronics where they was also no one. That can be frustrating. I will say the people in electronics are the friendliest in the store. The customer service department needs some re-vamping as well. I don't think I've ever walked away thinking, "wow what great customer service they provided". Last time I had to return something one of the employees was quitting. He walked away saying Walmart doesn't pay him enough!! I think more employees, more check stands open, more assistance available (especially for locked up items), and just a smile from one or two employees would bump this vote up one star.Update as of 9/3/23: This location has hired several more cashier's over the summer. It's been nice to go in, and not have to pick either the self-checkout or the one line that's open hoping you made the right decision!! Also there are employees that have transferred from the Portland locations that have closed. I wouldn't say I've noticed any increase in moral amongst employees. I rarely see any employee smiling here. The employees who check receipts are mostly friendly. Don't get me started on when & how they decide to check certain people's receipts since the bag policy has changed. It's pretty much up to personal discretion.Last thing... A lot of people must order groceries and pick them up, because I feel like I'm doging more employees picking items up than I do with fellow shoppers at this location and WinCo combined!! That's saying a lot?Update as of 2/2/24: I haven't seen much of a positive improvement since my last update. When I visited a couple days ago I noticed several items I was looking to buy had options that were discounted (Children's clothing, hair detangler, socks, etc). There were red clearance tags under these items, the clothing actually had clearance tags, but the hair products did not. When I get to the register of course the items don't ring up correctly. It didn't matter that I actually took pictures of the sale tag(s), 1/2 of the items of course didn't ring up at the sale price, and the cashier didn't honor the price (he either didn't know how, or he couldn't due to policy). I wouldn't know, because he didn't communicate anything. He just stood there and stared at me. In the past cashier's at Walmart adjusted the cost no questions asked. It's a little disappointing things have changed. I would like to give a huge thanks with the most gratitude to the customer service employees. You all work so hard. Thank you!

The shopping lifting has been so bad that they locked down the skin care and hair care department. The customer service has unlocked It with special tools. Then customer service takes items to register nine to be in a long line for register nine. The first time in Walmart it wasn't a great experience. The employees referred everyone like we were going to steal. We had a full cart, we paid for it all. My state has one largest national producing Walmarts compared to any Walmarts in Washington State. The national producing Walmart has their own security, cameras, and their employees are great. I will not be shopping at Walmarts in Longview since they treat all their customers as thieves. We paid for it and they had to look at our receipts to see if we didn't steal anything. The comments from Walmart employees have lousy professionalism. Walmart should have a better system in place if they are going to profile their customers...I'll go back to Safeway at least the store, I shop is friendly and helpful. I'm grateful for Safeway or Fred Meyers in Longview they're exceptional if I'm looking for anything for a speciality item for work. The customer service team at Safeway or Fred Meyer are helpful and friendly. I have to say when life is tough for us all. When losing a loved one and someone chooses to show you kindness and is helpful makes the day feel easier to bear. I will not be back at any of Walmarts in Longview.
