Closes locations, poor customer service,Uses fees to overdraft accounts so they can charge you more fees. I advise to not bank here.

Update: Thank God for the amazing and completely customer-focused Sondra who helped us figure out a work-around so we were not forced to share our SS# online. We did have to visit the branch, but she worked tirelessly with the WaFd tech by telephone. Got home and the solution did not work. Called Sondra and she got the tech staff on the line again. In total, she must have spent an hour helping us change our password SAFELY. Sondra was the only bright spot in this otherwise abysmal experience. Should it be this hard to do something so simple? The upper management of WaFd should be ashamed of themselves for inconveniencing customers and putting their staff in such an awkward position. Here's a clue: if you require verification just ask for the last four digits of our SS# like every other business does. Problem solved. I've been a customer for 10 years but, the next time something like this happens I WILL quit you WaFd, although, I doubt you will care. ****************************** This branch has the most wonderful employees who truly care about their customers....this review is not about them. Wafd decided to do one of their incredibly ill-conceived roll-outs, without informing customers...AGAIN. Tried to log into my account and was asked to change my password...no bigee. BUT customers are also asked to input their full social security number. No bueno. A financial institution, that doesn't understand how dangerous this is, concerns me deeply. Called customer service and tried their online chatbot, they sent me to "my branch," who of course is given less information than their customers. Wrote to district manager Carrie M. No answer.

I have been calling this branch since last Friday. The message says they are temporarily closed and the main customer care line said they do not know anything because each branch runs on their own policy. No one was answering the phone, today (Tuesday) I still could not get a hold of anyone. Understand COVID has presented challenges but many business has been adapting such as limiting capacity or work remotely to answer calls. I don't think they care about their customers, I would not recommend to bank with them.

''I've had an account here since 3 years ago and have done Business here off and on. Rebecca who handles our business here is wonderful, efficient and professional!' The other people here have always been friendly, courteous and polite! My only critique is that there is not the availability of a change counter? However the free coffee is an added plus and balances out the lack of a change counter? Still I will leave 5 stars as I can see that sunny days are here again? ''Thank you''
