Ginkgo Gem Shop is a cool spot for unique souvenirs and a fun, unexpected distraction. It is a fairly epic rock shop with a large collection of everything from dinosaurs and dragons to fossils, geodes, petrified wood, and all kinds of awesome rocks and minerals. The shop also features toys, gifts, wood and soapstone sculptures, and insect displays. Outside are large sculptures of dinosaurs flanked by huge petrified wood. There is a friendly shop cat that enjoys stretching and being scratched. It offers a good range of pricing, with some items less than $10 and larger displays over $1,000, though some prices are noted as high. It is a cute little tourist shop with lots of neat items to look at.
Love this place and always make sure to visit when I am in the area. The gentleman that runs it has always been so great! Great prices and one of a kind finds.... some really exceptional larger pieces. They recently had a fire in the area, so I highly recommend giving this wonderful man your business!
