I will first say that Gary, the man that picked up our tank when we quit Ferrellgas was the nicest, most helpful person that I’ve ever delt with. (Walla Walla, Wa.)
We bought our place in August of 2023. It had 2, 120 gal tanks. One rented from Ferrellgas and other owned by us. We transferred the acct over to our name from the previous owner. The tanks were both full so we didn’t have to purchase any gas until January. I called when we were less than 40% to let them know we would be needing gas before too long. The lady told me that there would be a $75.00 charge if we above 30% full and it could take up to 3 weeks before they got to us. Not a good way to start out. We they finally came to fill us, the driver handed me a receipt for $4.41.9 per gallon. I couldn’t believe the price. I called the other propane dealers close to me. They were $2.68 per gallon. I called Ferrellgas gas, someone from California answered, I told them the situation and they had to talk to their supervisor and would get back to me. They called back in a few days, said they would drop the price and credit my acct which they did.
Then this spring I got a notice they would be doubling my tank rent. I called the company and told them that I would discontinue their service. She told me that they would charge me $125 to pick up my tank and $125 to pump my tank out. I used all the gas out of the tank and called and told (a different lady) that the tank was empty and I used my loader tractor to move it out front where they could pick it up. She was very nice and said under the circumstances they wouldn’t charge me any fees.
I will not be using Ferrellgas again. Too bad, they used to be a great company. They are losing a lot of customers because of corporate greed.
I’m buying my own tanks, and call around to see who has the best price for filling my tanks now.

I've had good service since 2001 and things went much more smoothly after I did a search on the internet as to why my gas kept stopping it's flowing, and I would have to relite the piolet light. They tried everything, coming and changing out things 2 or 3 times in the dead of winter. It's not supposed to but something was freezing. There were lots of others having the same issue. They said to wrap the 'works' with insulation. We get temps down to 10 below some winters. I was more than willing to give it a try as the stove would continue working 20 minutes at most.I did it, I put in insulation first and then a towel over the top to keep it from coming out the holes. It worked and I've never had any problems since. Now I continually stay warm every winter without a hitch. The next driver to come, said it wasn't needed so I told him this one did and why. None of the drivers have questioned it since. Thay have always been so polite and courteous, and I really appreciate that, even more so since my husband passed away in Dec.

Being new to the countryside, I’ve never had propane. The gentleman that filled my tank was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful and explanatory of the system. If the rest of my service is the same way, I don’t see that I’ll ever have any problems. Being new to the countryside, I’ve never had propane.
