We had to surrender our cats because my daughter became severely allergic. The WVHS took them in, found them homes right away. The staff were very kind, and understanding.

I asked them to help this abandoned, starving dog I found. They refused because he wasn't found in their jurisdiction. In fact the Okanagan Angels rescue said the same thing to me. You know this really makes me want to think twice about rescuing another animal. These organizations are ridiculous. I would have been Willing to donate to them to help this sweet dog, but they just straight out said no to him being their problem. The Wenatchee humane society actually used to come grab my dad's dog over and over again years ago. It became a pattern. They knew he'd keep paying to get him back. They knew where the dog lived after the second grab, but they kept doing it anyway. Disgusting. I'm posting a photo of the dog they refused to help and the cuts he had when I found him.

When looking to adopt our last 2 rescue dogs over the past 5 years Wenatchee Humane has proven and continues to prove to be our families favorite, most organized, caring, knowledgeable, respectful, cleanest shelter we've visited in Washington State. We recommend friends and family members looking to rescue to adopt here. When you think of what an adoption process should be, the Wenatchee team delivers it and then some. All staff members deserve a giant pat on the back, high five, and pizza day.

Trash organization! 100%Will not be donating or referring anyone to this place again. The directors have some serious issues. Very serious issues.Do not expect any explanations about these issues either. I would give it zero stars if I could.

Adopted the very handsome Ronny over the weekend and had a perfect experience here. We interacted with 5-6 different staff members and everyone was very friendly and helpful. They gave us all the time we needed to decide if Ronny was going to be a good fit and answered any questions and concerns we had. The staff seemed happy to be there and to genuinely care about the animals and seeing them go to loving homes, which Ronny definitely did! We are happy with our new dog and the experience we had in adopting him, thank you!

This is a beautiful, clean facility with an awesome staff! Dogs get tons of enrichment and training every day, staff really cares for the animals. I was a bit of a needy potential adopter for sure, I asked a ton of questions about the dog I was interested in in advance (since it was a long drive), and staff got back to me promptly with detailed responses. They let me spend over 2 hours with the pup and helped me run the temperament tests I wanted to see so I knew she was a good fit. "Marley", now Roo, was taken in as a very shy girl who was in their behavioral ward and I was expecting a dog who may be a lot of work, but they had clearly made her feel quite comfortable and had had all types of volunteers walking her and spending time with her to give her a great head start in confidence training. She was obviously practiced in meeting new people as she warmed up to me within 20 minutes of high reward treats (which they provided)! They didn't push me to make a decision and provided me all the information I needed. Roo is a sensitive girl who may have closed up in the wrong shelter environment, but the work done in advance of her adoption made all the difference and she's been settling in to her new home beautifully.I had a fantastic, professional experience adopting here and have been recommending it to other folks in the Seattle area! So many great adoptable dogs here who are given the best possible shelter experience while they wait for a home. Thanks for all you do!

Called 24 hours before trying to adopt a cat and was told their hours for the next day. Show up the next day and there is a sign that says they aren’t open until 3pm. I live over an hour away so this is a massive inconvenience to adopt an animal.

Had a horrible adoption process go wrong from the Wenatchee humane society. Adopted a dog in 2020, and was not told the explicit extent of the dogs behavioral issues (completely unpredictable fearful aggression.) Had to learn about the significant bite history of the dog through gossip from the humane society volunteers. Absolutely abysmal/zero response when I asked for help. Awful shelter and I'm glad more horror stories are coming out about how irresponsible they are.

They claim to be a no kill shelter, however that is a blatant lie. Cats are killed upon arrival all the time. It's disgusting. They had over a million dollars donated for the new facility some years back with the stipulation that they would be a no kill shelter. They have not and do not hold up their end of the bargain. It is so sad the way they handle so many situations. They often times, show zero compassion to pet owners facing obstacles involving their furbabies. I wish there was some way for them to be held accountable but instead they're allowed to continue on with their shameful ways.

Adopted a kitten today so it was a great day. It was a little hard to try and get in here for an appointment when I wanted a specific cat but we eventually found the perfect one. If you want to come in here to look at kittens you will need to make an appointment. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Masks required for customers.
