Check out is notoriously slow. They keep the heat way to warm in the store. I've been told it's to keep their cashiers warm since the doors are opening so often. I always have to strip down to a single layer of clothing in here and still am uncomfortably warm and sweating; year around. Stock personnel lack any sort if estimate, as they are always stocking in busiest areas and causing route changes thru the store. They also dart around to quickly in aisle blind spots, causing irratic actions by all in the store. They do not adjust their stock quantities. Items that run out early will receive the same amount of delivery always, they never adjust to ensure product availability. Sections of refrigerator/freezers are out of service often, further making reliability of desired items sketchy. Very rarely have adequate cashiers and when managers are present they rarely open additional registers. The self serve check-out is non-functional 95% of the time. Typically the single cashiers are overwhelmed but pleasant and apologetic, unlike the managers, which is likely why cashiers turnover is so high. So all in all, it's a Dollar General, but this particular one is the worst run one I've ever shopped at .

5-Star Review for Dollar General
I had such a great experience at Dollar General thanks to the amazing team—especially Becca and Sharlene! Both of them were incredibly kind, helpful, and made me feel genuinely welcome. Becca had the sweetest attitude and made sure I found everything I needed, while Sharlene kept the energy light and fun at checkout. It’s not every day you get that kind of customer service! The store was clean, organized, and easy to shop in. Big shoutout to Becca and Sharlene for going above and beyond—you both make a difference!

The number and variety of items available is amazing. However, I've noticed a lot of wasted space taken up by old merchandise that isn't selling.
The manager is a very nice person, and very accommodating. I'm 82 and have trouble walking. She offered to pick my items from a list, and bring it out to my car for me .

The manager and possibly other employees let small town gossipers and troublemakers rate clients they no nothing about. I work for a very large company and we will shop elsewhere until this problem is addressed.

Dirty. More expensive than many things at our local grocery store or Walmart. It’s a company that settles in rural areas like ours, rips people off, works it’s employees to the bone and contributes nothing.

Make sure you verify that you are paying the correct posted price when you check out at Dollar General. The company is deceptive in their pricing and is regularly sued for not posting the correct prices. They must honor the posted price by law.Whatever the price shows on the shelf is what it needs to be when you check out. If you find that they are constantly violating this you need to notify local representatives to have them fined or even sued

Definitely not a dollar store by any means but if you need something the local grocery store doesn't have, you might find it here. I hate how everything requires the app to get a deal... I realize this is common practice but Dollar General is notorious for not having their deals accessible in the app. The cashier was unable to honor the discounted price when she was unable to find the deal in the app both by scanning the barcode and searching by product name. Meanwhile it was the app that showed her the discount I was seeking for the specific product. Not her fault but it is very deceptive and takes advantage of customers. I paid the full price as I had wasted enough time trying to figure out how to use the poor app. I see why locals were so opposed to Dollar General coming to town.
