Tsugawa Nursery & Greenhouses is a longstanding pillar of excellence in the landscaping and gardening community in Cowlitz and Clark counties. I remember treking up to Tsugawa's from Portland when I was in college, tasked with locating specialty plants for clients. With only a few exceptions, very little has changed in terms of the quality and variety of resources they provide. I was, however, a little disappointed to discover their once outstanding selection of bonsai plants has diminished significantly. There is still a nice little shaded area showcasing several trees, but it's nowhere near the quality and variety they offered several decades ago. There is a huge variety of plants in this nursery, and their stock is high quality and well-maintained. I recently visited on one of the hottest days this summer, and all of the plants were sufficiently watered. As far as I could tell, there were no wilting plants! The nursery is conveniently located just off I-5, with a giant parking lot across the street from the nursery. Visitors can expect to find everything from bedding plants and hardy perennials, to massive trees and shrubs that provide instant mature-looking landscaping. Having recently purchased a new home, you can bet I'll be making lots of trips to Tsugawa's as I design my gardens.

Can't even shop on a hot day because the owners are too cheap to fix their AC.
It's as though the owners are more interested in taking any profit for their own habits than reinvesting in the business.
And I can't say enough about how short-staffed this place is.
Sad to see what happened to a once good business once the next generation took over.

This place literally has the best costumer service ever! The staff are amazing!! Today was my first time visiting. I had my hand fulls with a cart full of plants and a four year old running around with half a shirt on. A staff member came to my rescue right away and helped me rearranged some of the plants in my cart. Another staff chased us across the street to help me load my cart. He also did jumping jacks with my son. Thank you so much! We had so much fun visiting!
Oh! Plants were awesome too!

I LOVE this nursery! They have such an amazing variety of annuals and perennials. The plants are healthy and beautiful. It is a huge nursery and I love to just walk around and view everything they have. The staff is very helpful, kind and knowledgeable. Sherry has helped me so many times. Her knowledge base is extensive. I would highly recommend visiting this nursery.

Great selection and bargain trees were a good deal..but several of them died and my request for warranty was denied and proving my purchase with a receipt was annoying. Who would make up a thing. I had my visa statement showing the charge but losty I'm the store receipt. I spent over 3k on cypress and cedars....I lost fruit tree too. I am careful to plant in growing seasons and try avoid stress for the plants. They did deliver, I should've let to have them plant so at least they would warranty if the plants died. They were very nice sale staff, prompt delivery but the support I expected from management was lacking and was treated like I was not aware....and a dumb customer.

One of the best nursuries in Washington and a must see for anyone. They had a Mimosa, Japanese Umbrella Pine, Palms and a Japanese Maple exlusive garden area. Very organized as well ?

Cool selections and water plants are best in area. However, if you're looking for low cost items Tsugawa isn't it. Prices on 4 inch basket fillers at $6.99, some of the highest prices I've seen. Prices top Portland Nursery, Cascade Greenhouse and Chapman's by $1+. However, they do have nice stuff and helpful staff. Tsugawa also has some specialty petunias I didn't find anywhere else.

So...I dropped my wallet and once I realized it, I called and they confirmed it was there. They even tried to track me down to let me know. Completely intact! Great bunch of people! As for the store, the selection is outstanding and, if you call, they will let you know if they have something in stock. They even had a dwarf conifer that I had been hunting down for months.
