1973 Ford F250 C6 Transmission. From the first phone call to driving away with a fully rebuilt transmission, our experience with the AAMCO Transmission in Yakima was an A+ experience. This team goes above and beyond to the point of even repairing a wire they discovered had frayed. I just can’t say enough good things. We will return.

The transmission in my 2005 Subaru Outback started having severe issues and based on reviews I brought it into AAMCO in Yakima prepared for the worst. It ended up being a simple fix and I couldn’t be happier with the service and honesty at their shop. They were accommodating with my busy schedule and had excellent communication calling to confirm the issues and pricing.
They fixed my car for less than $250, but also diagnosed an oil leak I knew about but hadn’t located, and gave me a card for another trusted local mechanic who could fix the issue. 10/10 and I will be returning for any transmission related issues.

I want to thank the team at AAMCO on South 1st Street in Yakima, Wa. for work they did on getting my vehicle up and running again. They were suggested by a few different people I knew and a maintenance shop in town. So I decided to give them a try.
They were up front with cost and the time frame on completion of the work that needed to be done.
Zak was great at answering all of my questions. Thanks Zak!

I have been in twice, first for transmission service (fluid and filter change) and later to check a sensor and error code. Both times they were honest, fair, and apparently competent. The fluid change went well, with no leaks.

In August 2023 i had Ammco check out my truck because if was making noise while driving. They looked at the transfer case oil and decided it needed replaced. We spent $1200 for a new case and had them put in it. Come to find out it wasn't the transfer case it was the rear end making the noise. We ended up needing to purchase a new vehicle. . The messed up part is they tried to say, they said it was the rear end during the initial 1st inspection. . I had to basically tell Zack that I talked to him personally on the phone and he told me it was the transfer case so I bought it, and zack said they would put it in for $200! They didn't charge me for the installation of the TC because abvously messed up. This is the 2nd time they "LOOKED" at one of our vehicles. The other truck they were supposed to look at the transmission and make sure it was running smoothly. Its now sitting in my parking lot broken un able to be driven along with our orher truck with a bad rear end.. Be careful taking a vechile there for service and get a second opinion if it's a big fix.

So far I have brought 3 vehicles to have the transmissions rebuilt by AAMCO. Their guys are very kind and knowledgeable and are masters at what they do. They just rebuilt the transmission on my work van. And it drives amazing now! Thanks to all your technicians and their hard work! Amazing service! Had a noise in my 1970 GMC, thought it was the transmission, turned out to be an old emissions control spring. They diagnosed free of charge. Will absolutely be back, outstanding shop!! Thank you
