Google Maps said nothing about "appointments only" on Fridays. Only after I'd asked the neighboring thrift store at about 1:30 did I learn to call Salvation Army for an appointment at this location. The lady who responded to my call picked up (in the middle of another task), impatiently, and stated that no food was ever served on Fridays.
Some coordination between staff members is badly needed. Their second star is meant to acknowledge the service they'd provide normally, crucially.

Prices are outrageous, mostly walmart and target brand clothing selling for as much as new prices bring used. This thrift store is the worst one in Yakima, which none are that great to begin with. Receive free inventory, pay your workers minimum wage don't wash clothing and have the audacity to charge 12-15 dollars for a used dirty button up shirt. Avoid this place

set up a appointment at the food bank for my client about a week ago, the woman who had set our appointment over the phone was beyond unprofessional and very impatient. I went in today for a scheduled appointment (they are no longer doing drive thru only scheduled appointments) and the older woman at the desk had the worst attitude I’ve dealt with in a food bank environment. I was told by another employee I had 2 minutes left to get my food and get out after I had only been in the building for less than 3 minutes (mind you nobody was behind me) very hostile environment and hands down one of the worst food banks I’ve been to when it comes to the people. food selection was great, just terrible customer service.

I had went to the salvation Army to look for some longjohns and I have my service dog with me and the lady in the counter I'm pretty sure her name was Patty told me that I could not bring my service dog is that the police told her yet that they don't have to allow service dogs in the store I don't think it's any of her business what kind of a disability I have and why I need a service dog I will not go back to that store again I will take my business elsewhere and I really think that the managers of that store should have a talk with your employees about service animals and they should be a little more professional about the way they talk to people I dated him and she's told me that I could not have my dog in there I stated she's a service animal she's allowed in the stores and that the lady kept replying like I saidLike I said I do not have to allow the animals in the store we don't allow animals in our store but she kept on telling me

The woman who work here are very unprofessional. I think they forget what kind of store there working at. It's not Macy's. Your dealing with low income families and to tell them you have good prices is a joke. This use to be a good store, with good help. Never will I go back.

I have found that over the last year, at least, that Salvation Army has changed its pricing to what I find ridiculous. Thrift stores have always been a good way for me to find books, record albums and clothes. I have also found some household items that were reasonably priced. Lately I have found that the clothes prices are outrageous. There were used t-shirts that I could buy new, for less. Same brand, by the way. No albums at all. Canning jars that I could buy a case for less than they had them priced for. And grouping books in packs. Thats great, I would have to buy 10 books for approximately $12.00 instead of the ones I needed and wanted. So, my Mother and I, left without purchasing a thing. It's unfortunate that a thrift store has become so much like the major department store that it's "used" items have become so out of reach for those who cannot afford to buy "new".
