I've never had a pharmacy be so rude. At first I figured it was just one overworked pharmacist. now after months of being a customer there I've had several terrible interactions between calls and picking up prescriptions. I'm constantly being told after I've received text notifications that my prescriptions are ready to pickup and waiting in the very long lines that they're not actually ready for pickup and they don't know when or even if they will be. There's two pharmacist that say that often like they're not going to be able to fill it. One of them even lied about a national shortage that another of them had to correct when I asked if I should transfer all my prescriptions. If anywhere else in the area still took my insurance I'd definitely transfer at this point. I don't drive and need a ride to come pick them up, every time I get there and they claim they're not ready even though I was notified they were, I end up loosing my opportunity to pick them up on time and I run out. That's happened almost every month now especially since Rite Aid shut down. Makes no sense to notify customers if the pharmacy is actually behind and not ready with the prescriptions.

Since RiteAid closed this pharmacy has been pretty bad. We have used it for 16 years and it was never a hassle. Now everything has gotten way worse. I understand that with riteaid closing they have more folks to serve but it has been more than four months. It is time to figure it out. We had a prescription sent there at 10 am. As of 7 pm they still have not filled it. This is the third time something like this has happened. We will be seeing it'll Tim's pharmacy takes our insurance and find another pharmacy.

Iâve been here 3 times and each experience has been horrible. I was transferred over from Rite Aid.
The first time I went to pick up a medication, they said they didnât have it in stock and to check the other pharmacies in town. After a half hour of calling around, I was called by Safeway pharmacy and told âwe actually do have the medication in stock, it was just misplacedâ. 45 mins wasted.
Second time, I got a text saying my medication was ready and when I got there, I waited in line for a half hour only to be told they donât have it ready but I could wait in the waiting room for 20 mins and get it. Almost an hour wasted.
Third time, I went at 5:20 and waited in line for 40 mins and then at 6pm they turned the entire huge line away because it was closing time. There shouldâve been a sign or something out front saying theyâre closing soon and no other customers can wait in line because they wonât be seen, so that everyone didnât waste nearly an hour waiting in line. 40 mins wasted.
In my 3 trips there, I wasted 2 and a half hours. Which is extra irritating considering I have a busy schedule and a new baby. Do better Safeway Pharmacy.

You shouldnât take on another pharmacy if you canât handle it. Came in twice today just for them to tell me after waiting in line that they had to close for lunch. I understand needing to close for lunch, but they should but up a sign in line ahead of time and not just tell those who have been airing in line for 5+ mins that they have to come back in 30 mins. Meaning I have to come back for the third time today just to get my 2 year olds pain medicine. Absolutely ridiculous. Will be filling my medication somewhere else in the future. Do not recommend this location.

Doesnât matter if you have an appointment at a certain time as itâs will be a minimum 15-20 minutes after that! Why not just do walk-ins thenâŚ. And vacuum the waiting area⌠God forbid you need a prescription as itâs just as bad!!!!

Giving them a 5 star! Iâm a new customer to this Safeway. I brought my insurance cards in when we first moved to Yelm to have them on file so when I needed to get a prescription they would have everything they needed. I called the night before my prescription pickup to make sure all was in order. They checked the shelf to make sure they had my medication, ran it through my insurance and gave me the price. I picked up the next day and was out of the store within 5 minutes. Everyone was friendly and efficient. Awesome experience!

Standing in line as it hits 9:00pm mind you I had been waiting several minutes before. The Pharmacist says sorry we now closed. Will not be using this place again!

I have been using this pharmacy for about 10 years and something has gone very wrong in the last year or so. I've had several old and new medicines coming up with way high prices ($200-$1700), and not very good explanations as to why that is. However its always the fault of someone else, the dr (that hasn't changed) , the insurance (that hasn't changed) , the hospital, the other pharmacy. There is a general don't care attitude for serious questions about what's going on like they don't make enough to give a hoot. Looking for a new pharmacy.
Edit: I appreciate the reach out by the owner of safeway pharmacy. I was unable to determine which official website and contact I was supposed to reach out to for further discussion as there are many levels.

All of these big brand stores such as Safeway and Walmart deserve one star as long as they close overnight.
You cannot convince me otherwise. As far as I'm concerned these big name stores have always kicked out mom and pop stores so they could be open all day and night and fully staffed by a corporation.
