Rooms: The room included an updated bathroom, sofa, small table and chairs, dresser, end tables, bed, fridge (larger then most hotel fridges), microwave, and flat screen TV, but the best part was the floor to ceiling windows over looking the river. Great view!Nearby activities: Hiking, gift shop, restaurant, basketball, playground, and outdoor pool (which was closed for the season when we were there).Food & drinks: Food was good. Service was great.

Stayed for two nights in mid-February (off season). The Lodge was absolutely spotless and so was my room. I really enjoy “off the path” places that are well taken care of. The views are spectacular, and there is easy access to a variety of hiking trails within the Park. The crew here are very friendly and hospitable. Their dedication is easily seen, from the well kept grounds, the clean interior, and friendly interactions. It’s easy to let things “slip” in the off season, but that wasn’t the case. Special shout out to the housekeeping staff! Thank you!

I will definitely be back. this place is very conveniently located if you are looking for a place to stay that is close to activities in both the state park and national park. The rooms were very clean and for the most part affordable. The restaurant was open until 8:00 p.m. so when we checked in we did not have to worry about going back out for dinner and wow what a dinner. I expected it to be expensive since it's a hotel but I was pleasantly surprised when I found that it was no more expensive than any other restaurant and the staff was friendly and accommodating and the food was delicious. on top of it all, the rooms give you a choice between forest fuse or gorge views.

We loved our stay at the beginning of Nov.2023. We enjoyed our room and the restraunt staff was great. We had rainy overcast mornings and the view was still outstanding. The entire staff was so helpful.

Beautiful! Facility was clean, beds very comfortable and all the staff were extremely friendly. The restaurant happily worked up a custom dish of Stir Fry veggies on rice when I asked if they had anything Vegan. Cori was amazing taking care of me at the restaurant for a late lunch. Hiked the grounds a little the night before, almost missed dinner time as I was distracted by the beauty, but they stayed open late as folks kept streaming in well after closing time. The staff accommodated all customers and never rushed anyone. All and all a very relaxing and scenic place to stay & eat.Walkability: Many hiking trails to walk but some are not graded smooth nor should, all the trails I saw are very well marked. Building itself has elevators and very accessible.Noteworthy details: Birds love to catch the wind just outside the lodge/ restaurant windows.

This is a great spot, convenient to both state park activities and the national park. The customer service we experienced was excellent—everyone was friendly and welcoming. The rooms are small (two queen beds is a tight squeeze!) but well appointed. Our first room had an AC unit that couldn’t keep up with the unusually warm, humid weather—but we were quickly moved to another room that was more comfortable. I did find the bed very firm but that’s not unusual for hotels. The hotel layout is unusual and you can end up snaking quite a way to get back and forth to your room, but we found things very quiet in our room. We also enjoyed the pool (a bit chilly even on a warm late August day) and the kids loved the little splash pad. Bring towels down to the pool with you, there are none there.Breakfast was included, a small buffet—sausage, biscuits, gravy, eggs, a waffle maker that’s seen better days, and some cereal and muffins. We also ate dinner at the restaurant (great views of the gorge!). Service was excellent, especially Emily at dinner. Food was not remarkable overall but my kids found the fries the best of our recent trip!

Stayed here for 2 nights while visiting New River Gorge NP. Absolutely worth the price and the slight detour for this private, quiet, and comfortable hotel. Every employee we encountered in the restaurant, front desk and bookstore were very friendly and helpful.

Very good food. We stopped there to eat. Place looked more expensive than it was. If we are up this way again we will stop here to eat.

I've been here more times than I can count and it never gets old.Every time I go to Bridge Day I make sure to stop here on the way there or on the way back. The views are amazing from the top and from the bottom.Riding the tram is a lot of fun :)The lodge is nice and the food they serve is good. The staff I've encountered over the years are always kind and friendly. There are a lot of attractions nearby so make sure to give yourself time before or after to explore.I can't say enough about this region. It's one of my favorite areas to explore in the US.So many cool places to hike, bike, raft, eat, learn, etc.Check this place out, you won't be disappointed!*I recommend going during the early fall to see the beauty of the leaves changing color.
