Love Big Loafer !

There’s a reason why this place has been in business for over 40 years! I can confidently say they have the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. I ordered an Italian loaf and a pepperoni roll. Both didn’t disappoint! Due to how everything is made from scratch in house (most importantly, there bread), the sandwiches are above any other spot. I can’t stress how much people should try this place! Definitely a local spot that deserves larger recognition! Will be back again when I’m in town! PS, I almost forgot to mention how the median sandwich is only 7$! What a bargain!

Unique spot with homemade bread stuffed with various options — tried the cheeseburger roll and Big Loafer and both were great! So satisfying and comforting. Love their little dining area in the mall.

Omg!! I only get big loafer about once a year. When ever family visits we buy in bulk. I'm about to cross the line and eat my third cheese sandwich in one hour. I might die. But I'll die happy.

A loved local establishment that has been around as long as I can remember. Do yourself a favor and get the pig in a blanket!

NO REFILLS!! I always here about their Pepperoni rolls but it didnt do anything for me. It was good but a average good, I couldve bought a frozen one better. Their fries are crinkle cuts and are good. Service is very ify, I usually got some grumpy old lady that yoy can tell she hate her job. Even though the foods average my review will remain a ONE STAR until they do REFILLS. That strikes a nerve with me. I'll be passing by each visit but do not recommend and I WONT BE BACK UNTIL THEY ALLOW REFILLS!

I got the Italian loaf. Price has increased to 6.75 for that sandwich. They used to be really good, but the quality has declined. I basically felt like I was eating only bread as the amount of ham was so little—and the bread was so hard in places it made it difficult to eat. I finally just had to throw it away and chose a different place to eat. So unfortunately I probably won’t be eating there again.

Great change of pace. This is not your ordinary burger shop. It is unique.

I got the 'best pepperoni roll in West Virginia'- if this is the best y'all can do, then just give up.The service was prompt and easy, I liked that tax was already written into the price. The food however, left a lot to be desired.Again, I got the pepperoni roll. The roll was incredibly heavy for the size, bread shouldn't be that heavy unless it's just a giant dough ball with no structure- guess what, that's exactly what their bread is like. Not only is the bread like eating a half cooked dough ball, it's so incredibly greasy. They made a point about keeping their bread recipe for 40 years..... Y'all should maybe try changing it.After gnawing through the dough ball, I was met with a little bit of cheese and a small sliver of pepperoni. They cut the sandwich into quarters for you, and the first quarter I selected had almost nothing in it. Then the second quarter had almost nothing. I dug around the sandwich and found 80% of the meat in a single quadrant. If you can't be bothered to make the thing right, why bother at all?Maybe I just got them on a bad day? I really don't understand the praise that they've gotten from other patrons. Are food options that bad in Barboursville?

Back home for a visit. Really wanted our favorite Big Loafers and made a special trip from St Albans to Barboursville to get it. From opening time at 11 to 12:30 the Italian Loafer was not ready. Was told first 40 mins, at that time told 20 mins, last time was still another 15 at least. So, we had Cheesesteak Charlie's. That did it for me.

My 1 star rating has nothing to do with the quality of the food, rather the employees closing the restaurant 30, 40 more BEFORE the posted closing time. So basically, they prepare as little food as possible for the day, then when they run out, that's it. Don't make plans to go early. 2.Sundays in row, I got to the Huntington Mall Big Loafer 20 minutes before 5, their advertised closing time. Today, I was there 40 minutes before. They were actually closing their gates, RUDELY turning customers away. I say eat somewhere that treat customers properly!
