The food at the cafeteria was horrible and the lady taking our order did not speak to us at all when we gave our order. Just a non smile, non greeting employee. The lady that cleaned our table before we could sit down (many dirty tables) was much nicer. As we were about to leave our table she came up to us to ask how everything was. I showed her the pile of ‘mashed potatoes & gravy’ that my husband took one bite of but had to spit it out because it had the consistency of harden paste. I told her the problem with them and she said, “that’s what happens when people come after five when we’re getting close to closing time”. She did say she was sorry and would we like her to get us more potatoes. We said no and she left.
We used to go there every Monday but not any more! My sandwich was tasteless and the bread was actually hard on one end.

My husband and I always make it a point to stop at the Tamarack whenever we go through WVA when we drive north. We enjoy looking and sometimes buying products advertised as the best of WVA. My husband never fails to go through Its gallery. Works of local artists and craftsmen, although very expensive, provide us with pleasure. We had not eaten anything at the cafeteria that we did not like. Homecooked, delicious and affordable!

Very interesting place to visit. Very clean and inviting. I did think there would be more to see and more shopping than there was. The prices are way too high for the merchandise.

The Greenbrier restaurant has always been our favorite restaurant for lunch when traveling thru WVa. After yesterday’s (6-5-23) very disappointing dinning experience it is now on our DO NOT STOP list. My wife had a vegetable plate that included a corn bread muffin that was aged longer than a good bourbon and a bowl of semi warm water, poorly camouflage as soup. My equally bad white bean soup was also semi warm and watered down beyond recognition. Unfortunately customers can no longer view the food prior to purchasing it. The absence of palatable food is apparently why the restaurant HIDES it from a customer’s view. 1 star only because O isn’t a option.

Somebody forgot to tell me the cafe is no longer operated by the greenbrier and it shows. I would definitely say the cafe has suffered greatly.

Stopped here en route to a convention at White Sulphur Springs. Always an enjoyable experience to see the displays of WV creativity and products. Had lunch and enjoyed the bean soup.
Took a closer look at some of the outdoor sculptures - very interesting.

The building is right off one of the major road and is easy to get to from the road. In fact it can be seen from several road. There are signs that lead to parking and there seems to be plenty of parking. This is like an art store, a glass factory and a business had a baby. It is an interesting store in many ways. Outside the round building has large triangular pieces that jut out from the building roof. It is surrounded by the Tamarack open air gallery. Inside the building is a circular design around an open atrium. The walkway is very pretty inside with beautiful art of all types. There is woodworking, painting, ceramics and food. It is all displayed in a vaulted room that has a lot of natural light around the central displays. The floor design is very pretty tile and carpet interspaced. We did not end up buying anything since the prices seemed high. This is a good place to see if you have never been to West VA as it has some art of local artists and a glass blowing furnace that was operating when we visited.

We are not recreational shoppers, but we stopped in to kill time as we waited for the Bridge Walk. The pieces of art were just stunning, we greatly appreciated the local talent. Sculpture, paintings, pottery, and more. We had coffee (delicious!) at the cafe. I would say it's worth a visit.

The Tamarack beautifully showcases a multitude of WV crafts. Most of the items for sale are quite expensive...but we did see/purchase several inexpensive items such as: jams/jellies, BBQ sauces/rubs, some postcards and a few smaller items. Really neat to see all of the crafts on display. There was a food court area. We did not purchase/eat there. Plenty of free parking. Not many folks wearing face masks. A nice place to stop and see some unique crafts.

Great for artsy-craftsy unique products and a place to eat just off the interstates. Be aware that there is a 75 cent toll (exact coins) if coming from the north-New River/Gauley River areas. Lunch was overpriced but good.

I loved being able to purchase local artisan goods all in one place! They have things ranging from under a dollar to literally over a thousand so you are sure to find something you want at a price point you can live with! I ended up with some leather work, jewelry, and art prints!
