The YMCA is the best place for families. As a veteran and now a state trooper, i must say that my family feels welcome and appreciated every time we go. The staff is friendly and helpful always shouting hello as soon as we walk in. The facility is clean and updated with the latest fitness equipment. They have classes for myself (kickboxing) and my wife (FUNctional fitness) and our family as a whole (battle aerobics and family yoga). Oh and we need to just workout, they keep our kids!!!! The pool, sauna and steam room are fantastic too. The ladies is down right now, but they have a new one on order. It’s the best value around and the best gym.

Not very teenager/kid friendly. Nice locker rooms for 19 and up only. Kids with parents have to use public locker rooms not anywhere as nice and all rusted out with no amenities. Pool is nice but just some lanes to swim and you need to sign up before using. Showers were cold. Staff was nice enough.the track upstairs is cool.

We are enjoying our membership. My boy and I like playing in the gym and swimming. I do wish they wouldn't have gotten rid of the racquetball courts. Other than that the upgrades are great. People are friendly and helpful.

I just go there for the evening kayak roll sessions, so all I've seen is the pool and the locker room. The pool is great. It's a full Olympic sized six lane pool and the life guards who are cool enough to stick around and keep an eye on us are wonderful. The locker room is a bit old school, but it's clean and speaking of clean, I've crossed paths with some of the cleaning staff there (at least I think they're the cleaning staff). They are the nicest people and they do a great job keeping the places I've been in tidy and fresh.

Ryan and Luke did such an incredible job at preparing all us for becoming lifeguards. We left the aquatics center with a better understanding and skill set. I know we are ready and excited to start or lifeguarding jobs. I highly recommend the YMCA of Southern WV for training to become a certified lifeguard.

Had a membership for 4 days and entered the facility twice, and was charged two weeks early, for the entire month ($40 sign-up fee + $48 monthly) despite canceling almost immediately when experiencing the lack of workout equipment.Employees at the facility are nice but the president is extremely rude and doesn't care about customers.Facility is probably worth the money if you're going to swim or play ball but the weights area is cramped and lacking. You can find better workout equipment at literally any other gym lol.Biggest problem is just being scammed out of $88 for entering a facility twice and canceling two weeks before the billing date.

Not familiar with their family-oriented programs, but their updated adult workout space is a good place for both early morning gym rats and community members wanting to stay in shape.

The Y is located in an area with high drug traffic passing by from nearby streets. I am woken up every morning starting at 5 am by people slamming car doors and beeping locks. Commotion all day long. I am upset the Y wasn't moved as planned. The other place would have been in a safer neighborhood
