I adore this very special Inn. Nothing quite like it in this world! I always feel cozy, happy, and homey here, and especially appreciate Tom and Mary’s new management!Though they plan to update it, Peg Perry’s former stewardship and style remain and are a delight to explore. An unusual sanctuary of Spirituality and Uplift!I have stayed in the Raphael, Gabriel, and Blue rooms and appreciate each for different reasons. Raphael is my favorite for the luxurious-sized soaking jacuzzi/tub.Tom’s breakfasts are out of this world! He slow-cooks the most delicious bacon I have ever had in my life. Never even knew bacon could be slow-cooked. He’s also an omelette and French Toast Wizard! He cooks mouth-watering potatoes in a secret ingredient…. And the breakfast yogurt parfaits are fit for a queen.Mary’s Cafe offers a sophisticated array of locally sourced meats and vegetarian delicacies, cheffed with a discerning international palate!I simply cannot say enough about the Inn itself and its dining offerings. This cafe rivals anything I’ve had in Portland or Seattle, two very sophisticated foodie cities. And there Mary’s is tucked away unassumingly in this very unusual setting a block off the main drag in Berkeley Springs!Alas, I was so hungry that I ate half of my avocado vegetarian spring rolls before my phone was charged to photograph them. They were delicious and beautiful! The local chicken was succulent and was roasted to perfection. All of the vegetables are prepared delicately and flavorfully…they practically sing!I loved both the Buddha Bowl and Mary’s famous curry. The vegan Black Magic chocolate cake would make it easy to give up eggs and milk forever. The richest, most decadent chocolate cake I’ve ever had.I love that Mary also curates a luscious group of sustainably produced local well-being products, and radiant local arts offerings! They go far to brighten up and further enliven this already lively Inn’s cheery rooms. This is a modern twist to a scene that could be from your Italian Grandma’s 80s living room! Especially if that Grandma adores the Miracle of the Sun at Fatima, and religious iconography.Mary’s Cafe and Maria’s Garden Inn are absolutely unique gems for hospitality, nourishment and singular ambiance!

We didn’t stay at the inn, but we did eat there..twice. We had 2 meals out while we were in the area and we ate both at Maria’s.The servers were very nice and personable. Maria was extremely accommodating and her food was incredible. The atmosphere was great. I felt like I was having dinner at home with my grandma. It was very warm and inviting. We can’t wait to go back!

Wonderful stay! Very close to down town and the warm springs. In fact, you can walk to everything! The room was very comfortable and the food was amazing. The Inn offered many amenities, snacks and beverages. It also felt very private. Breakfast was fantastic and was perfect way to start the day. Tom and Mary were super sweet wonderful hosts! Can’t wait to visit again.Nearby activities: Warm spring park- free to walk around. Be sure to make reservations ahead of your trip! Especially for massage.Walkability: Close to everything! Even if your mobility is a little limited.Food & drinks: So I am not a vegetarian but the food was incredible! We chose to eat there the entire stay.

Tom and Maria are some of the kindest people ever and I have never personally been so welcomed at an Inn. They went out of their way the entire weekend and I just cannot recommend this place enough. God bless them ?

My husband and I just spent our anniversary weekend here. What an amazing place to stay!!! Mary and Tom are the new owners and are great people (as were the previous owners from my understanding). They went out of their way to make our stay special. Mary left us some of her delicious chocolate cake in the refrigerator with some champagne glasses (we had brought our own champagne), and a beautiful rose with a nice note wishing us a happy anniversary. The breakfasts are all fresh, homemade and absolutely delicious. They ask if you have any dietary restrictions before you come and try to accommodate them. Mary’s vegetarian restaurant is on site as well, and we highly recommend it. Gourmet food that even if you aren’t vegetarian (I am not!) you will love! The avocado spring rolls are to die for! Mary and Tom are going to be updating some things, and make some great changes while keeping the spirit the previous owners instilled there. I highly recommend staying here to f you are planning to come to Berkeley Springs! It’s within walking distance to everything in town.

This was the most peaceful, caring place I have ever stayed at. Can't wait to go back.Rooms: The room was comfortable and adorable. It even had a little fireplace in it.Nearby activities: We went to the Roman baths, a salt cave and more antique stores than I could count. We weren't able to go to any of the many spas there this trip but the ones we went to on our last trip were awesome.Safety: Everyone was friendly and helpful and I felt very safe.Walkability: Nice wide even sidewalks, lots of crosswalks. Beautiful landscaping, flower boxes and trees. Everything was in walking distance of the inn.Noteworthy details: No hustle and bustle. This is the perfect place to relax and unwind.

The hostess was very helpful and friendly. The breakfasts were very good. I slept great because the bed, pillow and linens were soft and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the rocking chairs on the porch at night.

Love the beautiful place to stay in Berkeley Springs. Had the best room ever, the Raphael room, ask for it by name. Nice breakfast and a very lovely place to see. Also just a short walk to many downtown places to eat, shop, look at. And the State Park where you can get a mineral bath and fantastic messuage. Larry & Diane

Awesome!!! My husband and I stayed here last June as a little mini honeymoon (since we got married two days before the world shut down for COVID). Curtis was so accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was spot on! I do not eat pork and I am a shy person so I told him I'd just take some toast (as he had already prepared an assortment of things). He went out of his way to make me a veggie omelet and home fries!! Will definitely stay again!!

Maria's Garden and Inn the sweetest, most unique B&B ever! It's had a homey friendly decor and feeling, with some unique religious icons as Peg Perry the Matriarch of the Inn, had a near death experience yers ago, and has now lived out her days as a Christian Mystic. It's all quite amazing and of course all are welcome. The big family room has couches, table, chairs a big screen tv and and it's a great place to gather if the weather doesn't permit to be out on the fabulous patio! There is everything needed to make myself some home made food if I did not want to eat out, and the Curtis puts out fresh and delicious continental breakfast food in the morning with juice, coffee etc.I made myself a waffle from the batter he had made up and it was all just great. (I hear once in a while you may be able to talk him into making one of his world renowned breakfast meals on occasion ;)The decor is from back in the day and it is quaint and quirky. It is easy to appreciate it all as the rooms and baths are so very clean! Each room has air conditioning and heat you your desire... I just can't say enough wonderful things about this lovey and warm and very special Garden and Inn!The Staff are friendly, there when you need them but your privacy is respected and honored... it's just perfect

Feels like a cozy home away from home. The owner is very personable and accommodating. It's only a 2-3 minute walk to the springs.
