Good experience signing up and very easy. Everyone I’ve spoken to is friendly. Unit was clean - had some dings in walls, but that’s expected.
Only issue I had is when they send you the text that gives you your access code to gate, It’s not correct. You don’t input the zero and it’s missing two special characters you need at the pad. It would be helpful if there was a sign on the pad that told you what all you had to hit. So I got there early on my first day of moving in and couldn’t get in. I had to wait until someone was in the office. It wasted a couple hours of my time. Not a big deal, but should be corrected and send the code exactly as it needs to be entered. I even looked on their website to see if it said how it had to be entered and could find nothing.
Anyway, it is a nice storage place overall.

I am completely disgusted at Self Storage Plus's new company management...
If you, for any reason at all fall behind n your bill to the point of potential auction status, you now have to PHYSICALLY go in to the facility and pay by check or money order. This is so completely wrong because if you are in a position where you are sick, injured, or out of the area and can't make it to the facility to pay your bill in person...YOU WILL LOSE EVERYTHIN!!!! because hopping online to pay is no longer an option... It sounds to me like a ploy to make extra money by ending up with a person's valuables since once your bill is late they can cut your lock and put on their own...what's to stop someone from looking at what you have inside.
On a positive note, the young lady that works in the Charles Town facility is the BIGGEST SWEETHEART. It should be illegal to always be that happy and friendly.
And in calling customer service to complain about this disgusting practice a young lady named Veronica was also very sweet and very apologetic about the new policies.
The only thing I can say is...if you intend to use Self Storage Plus ANYWHERE..please be aware of this new policy.
If you need an employee to brighten your day..you can always call the happy young lady at the Charles Town location or Veronica at customer service. 😀

2024 WARNING- If you must use this company DO NOT use automatic payments. I moved out on my final day and they debited my account for an entire month. I have called and emailed them to no avail. In my book, that is stealing.

The older guy helped me and was phenomenal. We related on a few things. He was def good vibes . The Lobby is set up very nice. There's plenty of storage units and a variety of sizes . It's very well maintained.Climate control is an option.They have a deal going on right now first month free with c.c and I got a 5x5 and then there's also a certain percentage discount for every month after

Love the customer service by the manager Danny. However, I don't appreciate the corporate HQ increasing my monthly rental by over $30 a month. They know they have you... it's outrageous!UPDATE: It has gotten worse. They previously raised my fee to $175…now to $220!!! Saying the market supports it. But I can go online and rent a unit there for $109-$124. Same size. Another location in Charles Town is at $89 with 2 free months. Outrageous! The owners are scam artists (the workers there are awesome though). Don’t fall for their bait and switch prices if you plan to be a long term renter.
