“I LOVE this place.

The Hobbies Shop is a family-owned and operated neighborhood shop in Charles Town, and I’m lucky enough to live super close by. I always bring my out-of-town visitors here, and they love it too.

It’s dog-friendly, but definitely double check that the shop dog is accepting visitors before you come in.

This is one of those places where you can’t be shy. If you’re looking for something, ask — because they probably have it. And if you’re really worried, call first. Real people answer real phones here.

They have RC cars and parts for when you inevitably crash them, games, puzzles, tactile toys, squishy fun stuff, paint-by-numbers kits, diamond kits, craft supplies, and honestly a ton more. They also have a really great disc golf selection for the area, and they can special order cool discs too.

And I almost forgot — there’s a great food truck in the lot with picnic tables, which makes it even more fun to stop by and hang out.

“I decided I was going to take advantage of the recent dramatic price increase on silver and sell a few of my 1oz buffalo heads. I called around to several different places to get prices, and The Family Trust Numismatic offered me the best price of anyone.

The gentleman behind the desk was very knowledgeable and friendly to talk with about collecting coins. You can tell he is very passionate about what he does. Overall, it was a very good experience and I will certainly be back, (and maybe, just maybe buy my own silver coins back if the price gets low again.)”
