I have never gone to this place. But they kept calling and leaving messages through out the day while I was working about some lamps. When I finally had a break I called and explained nicely they have dialed the wrong number as I’ve never been to their business before. The woman that answered the phone was nasty and yelled at me saying that I did in fact drop off two lamps and they are ready and that I’m lying. One why would anyone lie about this? And Two if you listen to my voicemail the name I clearly state is not the person they are trying to reach. All I asked is that they stop calling me as I’m not that person and am sorry that person either gave the wrong number which I’ve had for over 4 years now and I moved to another state across the country 3 years ago and have yet to be back on the east. The woman proceeded to be nasty and demand I come pick up my items even after I calmly explained everything to her and that she’s calling me during my work hours and to please stop leaving voicemails. I hope they got this sorted because even after the exchange I kept getting phone calls and I kept ignoring them the rest of my day. I’m writing this review because that’s highly unprofessional and annoying to deal with. I hope nobody else gets treated this way. I was understanding at first but after the way I was yelled at for lying this is just very disturbing for a business.

My Mom used to love to come in here. I did not understand her fascination with old things. Now that I am furnishing my own home, I get it. These are nice people with a nicely curated shop.

I stopped by Black Shutters Antiques in Leesburg and was told the only place to take my antique chinese ginger jar lamps for repair was The Wooden Shoe in Charles Town, WV. I took their advice and carried both large lamps for repair. What a find! The owners have been in business for over two decades and relocated from Northern Virginia and both husband and wife were personable and at the same time business-like. He took one look and said I can stablize them, give them new harps and shine the brass fittings. After two weeks, the shop called and I returned to find my lamps in beautiful restored condition. He had even made some changes to the bases which made them more stable as he said they were irreplaceable. The store is filled with many expensive lamps and glass shades going back many decades. If I have any other lamps that need adjustment or repair...he is the ONLY business that I will patronize...period.
