Rented a convertible, drove an hour to pick it up, no convertibles available. Waste of time and money. The first words out of the agents mouth, should've been "I'll find you one". Even if it was at a competitor.

The check in was easy, as I did it before I reached the airport. However, I asked for another vehicle and no other was "available." I had scratches on the rental and went back in to inform the associate, and she just marked it on my slip. She did not come out to physically check it. I called because the Bluetooth would not connect and again, no assistance was offered.

Alamo charged my debit for $884.12 when I authorized $300 for a spilt payment transaction. I felt violated and extremely upset. Seeking Legal action for this cause.

I have had the best experience with the girls at Alamo/National at this location!Summar, Cara, and Mindy are always pleasant and happy to assist me. I have experienced seeing them with difficult customers and they are always professional and courteous, even when the customer is rude and demanding. These three women always do their best to meet and exceed the requests of their customers. If something is beyond their means they are apologetic and do everything to make it right, even if that means referring a customer to one of the other rental companies when they have no vehicles available. There are other employees who work here as well, but these three stand out with their excellent performances and their enjoyable conversation.I choose Alamo at the CRW 100% of the time for their customer service, if I go with another company it is merely based on a significant price difference alone!

I wouldn't recommend Alamo car rentals to my worst enemy. My family member reserved a rental for us today and she called to ask a question about the rental. When Summar, the most rude woman I've ever met, answered the phone, she said "I've been trying to contact you to let you know we gave the last van to the boy scouts." We were leaving for vacation today and we needed a van or something bigger and since they had nothing similar in size or bigger, my family member told her to cancel the reservation. When we got to the airport, I went up to the Alamo desk and I asked if they had any vans, just to see if she'd tell me the same thing. She told the truth, saying they were out of vans and I told her they cancelled our reservation. She checked the name and said "Oh, yes, someone called and told us to cancel the reservation because you don't have a credit card." That couldn't be farther from the truth. These rental companies are only out to take advantage of people and line their pockets. I eagerly await the day Alamo goes out of business and Summar loses her job.

Even though i prepaid, they would not take my debit card as collateral and would not honor the rental.

Despite booking and paying for a car in full several weeks before arrival, when I got to Charleston, WV airport to collect the car, they refused to let me take the car because their equipment would not accept my credit card. They could accept my debit card but because my return flight was a few days after I wanted to return the car, they also refused that option. Despite having booked and paid for a car in advance, I then had to go and book a car at Hertz where my card worked fine, I don't recommend anyone paying Alamo anything in advance, you may just arrive and find they wont give you the car after all.

Avoid at all costs. Prepaid for a reservation specifically to get a certain class of car. They did not have the car, despite giving out the same type to a person in front of us with no reservation, and we spent a week attempting to escalate to the manager, Jodie, and the regional manager, Chad, both of whom refused to help. So we ended up being stuck with the other car for the entire length of the rental. We have escalated to the BBB, but at this point this specific location and their management has refused to help to the point we needed to escalate the issue, so a 1-star it is.

I had a similar experience as the other reviewer. I know the agents are trained to upsell as much as possible, but I was flat out misled my last visit a couple of weeks ago. I was told at check-in, "you can upgrade to a higher class vehicle for only a couple of dollars more." I thought, oh...a couple of dollars...that's not bad. When I turned the car back in I found out a couple of dollars means $11.99 per day in Alamo-speak. When I brought this up to the agent (the same one who did the misleading upsell), she did not offer to reduce the charge, give credit, ...nothing. This experience makes me not want to use Alamo again because I felt I was used.

I think I should have been helped to get the most cost effective deal for the weekend. Instead I was steered into features and extras that I really didn't need. In short I ended up spending about $100.00 more than I needed to.
