Really cute unique coffee spot. We got the spring specialty baklava latte (described as pistachio honey flavors) although it was a good sweet latte did not taste any of the notes described. We also got a sugar free coconut cappuccino which was great! Few baked items to choose from: two flavors of scones and 1 muffin. The cranberry scone was just ok. Lots of books to choose from and items to look at. Kids section was great, my little ones enjoy picking up books and toys and gazing through the shelves. Two sections of books/art; the kids section is in the coffee side back near the bathrooms (heads up you need to ask for a code from barista in order to use restroom. Street parking available out front (meters).

I purchase from Taylor Books whenever I come to Charleston. The store has a nice selection and an even better ambiance. If you want to live in a world that has cool bookstores like Taylor Books, you've got to shop at cool bookstores like Taylor Books!

Great find for all my book lovers! Stumbled upon this place while roaming around Downtown Charleston. Glad I popped in. Great (inclusive) book and gift selections, live music, and amazing coffee/dessert options. The experience overall is...Taylor made...get it! I will definitely be back the next time I'm in town.

Fun little place. Bookstore and coffee shop. We hit up the coffee place. I got the iced pumpkin vanilla spice latte. Delicious!! Very sweet but super yummy. We had major sticker shock at the total cost! But in a good way! Wow, inexpensive!!

Cool book store and cafe along Capitol Street. The cafe has lots of tasty beverages. I got the Cafe Con Miel which I highly recommend. In fact - 4 drinks were ordered and the total was less than 15 bucks, try to get away with that at S'bucks, I dare ya.

Great spot - so much going on. Tried the gluten free chocolate cake; excellent. I do not follow a gluten free diet, but I am always willing to try some that looks delicious; winner. I am an herbal tree drinker and it often hard to find; excellent store blend. Prices were reasonable, staff was attentive and the environment was very pleasant; would have loved to shop the shelves.

The books are very liberal and the environment is for a younger crowd. The food is really good. Their quiche is amazing and their banana bread.

So great to see a well-stocked and spacious bookstore nowadays! A real actually. Good Coffee, nice treats and outdoor seating. Sadly, if only the staff were as welcoming as the ambiance. I gave a 4 because any bookstore this cool deserves 5 but the staff gets a 2-star rating. After the first server just walked away from me and left me standing at the counter (awkward), the second server rolled her eyes and took my order. I gave her $12. My bill was 9. She tried to give me change and I said that's for you. She threw it in the tip bucket and walked away. No thanks or have a good day or even a goodbye. NO NOTHING. Rude. Then when I was buying my books, the cashier barely looked at me and was not "rude" per se, but certainly not friendly. Again, no thank you, no come again, not have a nice day. The group I was with all had the same feedback. We all kind of laughed about it because they were like a bunch of snobbish hipster New Yorkers in West Virginia. It really stuck out because absolutely EVERYONE else in WV was so incredibly friendly. My advice-- check this place out for sure! Just ignore the snotty hipster staff.

Oldest bookstore in Charleston. I have never actually bought a book there; but I love their coffee bar. It is a fun little spot to grab a coffee and delicious carrot cake! On a Friday night you can usually hear some live music.

Great place to meet friends, have a cup of coffee or a beet. Nice greeting cards, lovely pottery.

Came here because we had to wait an hour for the pies and pints. So we were at first confused on where the coffee shop was as it was apparently attached to the book store. We walked in and it reminded me of you've got mail. Small, quaint book store. Then you make a right and boom more book store with the coffee shop. The Tiramisu was delicious. Light, sweet and good. Wife got a chai tea which she said was good. And I liked it as well. We met some nice folks which we had a nice conversation with. Apparently on Saturday night they have live music. The girl singing was good. Very good voice.

So the books and service were amazing. The food and drinks on the other hand were not the best. I got a cranberry scone and a dirty chai tea, the scone tasted like stale biscuit mix and didn't really have much flavor. The dirty chai wasn't bad, just a bit bitter and a bit watered down.

Possibly the best place in Charleston West Virginia. They do feature live music sometimes and it's acoustic. They have the best book collection that will make you want all of them before you leave, children section too. The Cafe is welcoming and they do a really good job.
