Alpine Lodge is a rustic mountain lodge that offers a comfortable stay for visitors to the Canaan Valley area. While the rooms and furnishings may be dated, they are clean and provide a cozy atmosphere. The lodge is pet-friendly, though guests should be aware of potential pet odors in certain rooms. The on-site restaurant is a highlight, serving delicious homemade meals, including a popular Valentine's Day dinner featuring excellent mushroom soup, fried oysters, and a generous lobster tail. Guests praise the warm and attentive staff, who have gone above and beyond to assist customers, such as returning a forgotten item. The lodge's location is ideal for those seeking outdoor adventures, with easy access to nearby attractions like Blackwater Falls State Park and the charming towns of Davis and Thomas. While the facilities may not be modern, Alpine Lodge provides a great value and a true mountain experience for its guests.
Really cool rest area and lookout. I didn't see lodging but it may have been hidden somewhere.

On the bright side my room was quiet, reasonably clean, and comfortable. The entire facility is in serious need of updating. Direct TV was advertised as a plus but did not work. My stay was adequate but I don't feel this motel warrants the price I paid.

Me and several friends were in town for a half marathon and stayed at the Alpine Lodge. The hotel was clean and comfortable and great for a group. The service was also great. I left an item at the hotel and the manager was helpful and mailed me the item free of charge.
