Beautiful! Worth the drive out, it’s a winter wonderland. Highly recommend snow gear, stairs can be slippery. NOT ADA friendly. But accessible if people are willing to take their time.Restrooms: Near the trading postPicnic area: Before heading to the falls

Love this area so much even during the first snowfall of the season! It was very slippery bit beautiful! This was my 2nd time to this place and I definitely recommend going during the off season when there is less people. This was amazing during this time. Quiet, peaceful, and no crowds. Such a beautiful place!

Really beautiful park with plenty to do and some breath taking views especially in early October when all the leaves are changing colors that was pretty much the hole reason for us going I would definitely recommend adding this to your camping list. And they also have a really nice lodge if your not into camping an such.Playground: Nice playgroundsRestrooms: Nice clean up kept restrooms in the campgrounds at least I done remember using any of the others throughout the park.Dog-friendliness: It's a state park so there allowed anywhere except maybe in some of the buildings.Picnic area: Plenty of picnic areas.

So beautiful. A little busy and people were hogging certain areas. I think we wait just about 30 mins just for this one family to move so we could finally take a photo of the falls. Other than the people the area was beautiful. The stairs are crazy as well. Be careful not to slip.

Stopped at the gift shop first for a park map, the gift shop has lots of nice items. Took the stair case down to view Blackwater Falls. The steps get wet and slippery so watch your footing. There are a few different places to view the falls from the stairs. There is also on of the WV Almost Heaven swings for a great photo op. We did the Elakala trail, easy and short trail. There really is not a good view of this small waterfall. We also did the short and easy trail to Lindy's Point. This trail did not disappoint! The views from here are amazing!

The beauty of this state park is unmatched! The trails are all well marked and pathways seem to be kept really well. There are also really nice overlooks for those that need handicapped access. I only wish I weren't so scared of heights and hadn't looked down because I struggled with the height and drop offs. So many deer that are protected and free roaming, so many drivable outlooks for adventurers of all kinds. Definitely a slice of Heaven to put on your bucket list and visit! Make sure to stop off at Blackwater Trading Company for some snacks (I saw some folks with nachos, bratwursts and cheese and beer) and souvenirs!

"Leaf Peeping" at Blackwater Falls State Park did not disappoint. Viewed the falls from halfway down the 200+ stairs at the boardwalk, then walked back up the emergency road to avoid some of the steps. Also viewed the falls from the Gentle Trail. Stopped at many of the overlooks for amazing fall foliage views. The bridge over the Blackwater River was also stunning. Nice restrooms in the park, a lodge with the Smokehouse restaurant, rooms, and a gift shop, as well as a trading post near the Blackwater Falls Boardwalk. Highly recommend a visit. There are many other spots we have yet to explore, so we will be back.

We absolutely love Blackwater Falls! Located in my home state of WV, the park brings serenity and tranquility to anyone who visits. The falls, the trails…We even found a trail up near the lodge that was reminiscent of a movie set. Trees grew in an amazing way…roots seem to have been above ground and trees were open. I had never seen anything like it! Would love to make another trip back soon!Restrooms: Restrooms available in various locations of the park.Picnic area: Lots of areas to picnic throughout the park.
