Originally from West Virginia, I always like to come home and experience a new aspect of the Mountain State. We were at the end-of-the-line campsite. Our grandson was enthralled with the train ride to the campsite. It was a well-appointed site with a fire ring, picnic tables, and shelter. The Greenbrier River was perfect for our grandson (who is from Brooklyn) to fish, explore, and get to know West Virginia.
The caboose was comfortable and held the four of us with no problem. We brought our food and some extra lighting, but really didn't require anything else. The registration process, check-in, and check-out were problem-free. The staff at Mountain Rail were always responsive to any question we had. The engineer and conductor were friendly and informative.
We highly recommend this trip for a truly one-of-a-kind glamping experience. Thank you to everyone at Mountain Rail and Castaway Caboose. We'll be back.”
