I want to start by saying that every staff member I interacted with, except the manager Katherine, was absolutely wonderful. Shouts out to the great cashier she needs a raise and maybe that position.
Unfortunately, my experience with Katherine was unlike anything I have ever encountered in retail. The way she spoke to me was extremely unprofessional and unacceptable.
The issue is this: I was charged for $300 in gift cards and left the store with zero gift cards. I had planned to purchase over $700 more in gift cards as well. I explained to Katherine that because of the holidays, I may not receive a refund until Friday, which is a serious problem.
I have purchased gift cards many times before. When a system times out, it must be given time to process. When this happens across multiple transactions, it can result in thousands of dollars being temporarily removed from an account with no product received. Most people cannot afford to have $2,000 missing from their bank account while potentially only receiving $1,000 in gift cards.
I have already contacted corporate and will be reaching out to my bank first thing Friday morning.
During this situation, I even mentioned that I own another business. One of your staff members jokingly asked if I was hiring, and after this experience, I honestly cannot blame her.

Clean, well stocked and organized, very helpful employees/clerks, quick trip in and right back out. This particular DG actually sells fresh produce. Grits Farm is local so that may be a contributing factor. Definitely love this DG over all others that I have personally been to.
