“They have always done a great job when I get my oil changed and tires rotated. They found my alignment was out and saved me from having to buy a new set of tires. They never try to sell you something you don't really need. That is hard to find these days a mechanic shops. Will pull your air filters and show them to you so you can decide on changing them. I recommend them for all basic auto repairs.”

“After stopping for lunch, on a trip, I did an inspection of my trailer and discovered a deep cut in one of the tires. After calling around this was the only shop that had these small size tire that I needed. I went there and the gentleman behind the counter said it would take about 45 minutes, no problem. After about 20 minutes he told me the tire was replaced and ready to go.
As a side note they're waiting area was filled with very comfortable Adirondack rocking chairs. The chairs were for sale. Although a bit expensive, if I was in the market for one I would have bought one of those because they were very well built.”

“Went to them with a bit of an odd request, a rocker shaft was stuck in the cylinder head of my klr250. I showed it to Rob and he was sure they'd be able to help me out. The next morning he called to let me know they'd managed to remove it. They were professional, fast and willing to help when they could have easily turned me away for such a small odd job. I definitely know where I'll be bringing any cylinder head work I need done in the futureThank you guys again!”

“Amy that works the front office is phenomenal. It almost felt like I knew her my whole life because of the way she communicated. The service was 10/10 and was definitely the best quote given. They are honest which is hard to find in this world because every mechanic I know likes to suck every penny out of you. They even give you the option to order your own parts if you feel like their prices are too high. They replaced an engine in my vehicle and it runs 10x better than it did before. Best mechanic shop in town by far!”

“Took my MDX there when the transmission completely failed. Here is the thing, the bad reviews you are seeing are from the type of people that expect their car to be fixed within a few days. Somehow people expect them to have every single specific part from their certain transmission and have them slap it together within a few days? They have dissect your transmission, find what was the problem, order OEM parts and once they come in they reassemble the transmission, reinstall and then test it. Melvins is not McDonalds, they are not going to have it done in an instant. I do not know of any other place that could do so unless it was from a dealership that has the said parts or rebuilt transmissions on standby and many technicians to get it in and out of there but the price will most likely exceed the cost of your entire vehicle.
Melvins at the time only had 2 guys and now have 3, all are trustworthy and willing to talk and help you out. I had them install a ATF cooler and inline filter as well which they gladly did. Also asked if they could do my timing, they got it set up and all was done. If I ever have to deal with transmission problems again I will go to them. If you have patience and want a trusting company then go here. If your daily driver's transmission went out and you need it done in a few days to work? Get a new car, it just isnt possible to expect that kind of service from any shop.”

“I recently visited Grease Monkey on Fairmont Ave for a standard oil change. I was able to have my vehicle serviced right away and enjoyed a hot coffee in the lobby during my wait. I was welcomed and thanked for my business by the owner himself! He was pleasant to talk with and spoke very highly of his technicians and experienced staff; as a fellow business owner this is so nice to hear. During the service appt, I also had an automatic transmission service and a rear differential service. I was appreciative of their attention to detail, communication with me during the service appt, and their transparency of the maintenance needed and/or being done to my vehicle. My husband and I have many of our vehicles serviced here and will continue to thanks to the customer service and quality of service provided!”
