*DISCLOSURE* I have an account through Credit Karma Money Spend, which MVB Bank is the financial institution for.On July 20th, 2022, my checking and savings account had been suspended. Via email by Credit Karma, it stated the details were unknown as to why the account had been suspended. The only information given was that the “bank of record (MVB Bank)” was conducting an investigation and that they would be in contact with me.I replied asking for details, phone numbers, anything or anyone that I can contact to resolve this misunderstanding. I’ve been going in circles with false promises… (1) It would be resolved in no more than 10 days (2) The priority of my case would be elevated (3) My case would be submitted to a “team of specialists” more equipped to assist in this matter.16 days later, I have not once received a communication initiated by a source of MVB Bank/Credit Karma. Meanwhile, I am behind on multiple bills and unable to purchase basic life necessities, all due to the negligence of this financial institution and its partner.Since the communication I initiated has fallen upon deaf ears, I have initiated formal complaint with the FDIC. I encourage anyone having a similar issue to relay their experience to the FDIC for investigation.TLDR; If you are thinking about opening an account with MVB Bank directly, or through Credit Karma, they are extremely negligent in how they provide customer service. I truly hope my case will save at least 1 person from opening an account with this institution. Their actions, or lack of, should be seen as criminal.

NEVER EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS BANK. DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT. DO NOT BE TEMPTED WITH INCENTIVES. I opened my account through Turbo Tax when I filed my taxes earlier this year. It is technically through Credit Karma but this is the actual bank.I did an adult name change. They blocked my account because I received a direct deposit from my payroll company. The same deposit I receive every single week from the same employer. The same amount. The same day. Everything was the same. They blocked my account and refused to unblock it with my documents for my name change. My drivers license and my court document proving my name change .. both 100% valid and legal documents. I also have my updated social security card.10 business days was the time frame I was told. They refused to let me speak to anyone other than the customer service number I called. There are no people to talk to. No way to communicate with the department that blocked my account.I asked what would someone do if this is their only account. Their only money that they have. They receive their direct deposit and their account is blocked. No money for anything for 10 business. No one cares. No one can help. They don’t respond to emails. I have no idea when or if I will get access to the money in this account.SO DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!

I’ve been a customer for 15 years. Tried login into my app said I’ve been logged out. I’ve went to customer service said my account is inactive. They said you will have to reach out to a local branch. Said my personal online account doesn’t exist but I had a business account that I was on years ago. They used used to be a great bank small town feel. The bank staff knew the customers by name. They are all about share holders now and making money not about the customer. Go to Fairmont Federal Credit Union or First Exchange. I’d give them 0 stars if I could.

Tubrotax and this bank are running a scam to charge you to file your taxes and sign you up with and account with this bank thru credit karma to get your refund. They deny your advance dont inform you why and this all happens after they make you create an account and debt card order before their decision. Scam. Use H&R Block online.

Just found out 2 years after I paid off my home equity loan and paid the $600 prepayment penalty, that the loan was never closed. Someone did not take the extra steps to close the loan after I paid to have it done. While refinancing my home, I was informed that I have an open account with MVB bank. Being a busy person, it did not go down well to have to place 2 calls to MVB bank where I was initially told that the account is still open and that I would need to pay the penalty ( $600 again) to close it. This took an immediate 10 years off my life until I was called by MVB personnel and told that it indeed had been paid 2 years ago. They had to dig for the proof. Now I am getting letters from them saying that I just closed that account. This is dishonest and poor management. Will never return to MVB.

Unprofessional and when your debit card gets lost forget about calling the 800 number to report lost because they have no clue and can't find your account.
