Tygart Lake State Park is a beautiful destination in the hills of West Virginia, known for its stunning scenery and clean, inviting waters. Visitors appreciate the well-appointed cabins, which provide a comfortable stay, and many find the inflatable water park fun for both adults and kids. The park offers excellent opportunities for boating, fishing, and hiking, with various trails available. However, some reviews mention that the picnic areas are limited and that the camping facilities are primarily for tents. The lodge and restaurant receive mixed reviews; while the lodge is nice, it could benefit from updates, and the restaurant has been noted for slow service and average food quality. Despite these concerns, the park's natural beauty, including its crystal-clear lake, makes it a cherished spot for family gatherings and outdoor activities. The area features a playground for children, fire pits, and grills, making it an ideal place for creating lasting memories. Overall, Tygart Lake State Park is a hidden gem for those seeking a relaxing escape into nature.
Very clean and quiet. Stayed at the campground. Park attendants were very nice and professional.

Beautiful area especially with the snow. The lodge room was very nice. The heater was a bit loud but kept the room warm. The restaurant was good and convenient. All staff were wonderful and helpful. Went on the first day hike on New Year's Day!

It’s a state park so yes, it’s out there but it’s worth the drive. A room was spacious and clean great view of the lake. We went in the fall so the water was low, but still beautiful. We had a delicious breakfast at the lake Lodge restaurant. The service was fast, friendly.
