The Appalachian National Scenic Trail, established in 1925, is a unique cooperative-management system led by the Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC). The organization works with local, state, and federal partners to protect, maintain, and celebrate the trail. Visitors can enjoy a friendly and knowledgeable staff, clean public restrooms, and informative exhibits about the trail's history and nature. The ATC's Harpers Ferry location offers a rich experience for outdoor enthusiasts, including the opportunity to meet and support thru-hikers. Overall, the Appalachian National Scenic Trail is a must-see destination for anyone with an interest in hiking and the great outdoors.
Very nice Conservancy center for hikers and visitors. Lots of info about the Appalachian trail including a small meusum and giftshop. Come ask questions, get your AT Thruhiker picture taken and sign up to be a member here or online!

The gentleman working when we stopped in was very friendly and knowledgeable. He gave us a couple free stickers and explained a lot about the Appalachian Trail. Clean bathroom available for public use was a nice plus.

We walked from here down Washington street with a baby in a stroller. It’s hilly but nice.
