Cute store. Have visited many times and plan to keep swinging by when able. Some of these reviews are very strange. I’ve never had an issue with the owner or workers. Always pleasant, never spewing political stances, etc. makes me wonder if they are fake accounts?

Loved our visit here - great trail gear and snacks and wonderful friendly folks to assist. Try the Bourbon Chocolate Bar… surprisingly delicious. .

Nice shop located close to the historic Harpers Ferry National Park. Very friendly staff on hand and their selection of items greatly vary. Highly recommend a stop at this store. Check it out!

The lady at the counter was incredibly personable and very helpful! We had a lovely time at Harper's Ferry and really enjoyed our stop in at the General Store.

The young guy at the counter is pushy with his extremist propaganda. I had to rush my family out when he started being beligerent. Who knew that such a racist would work in a town known for civil equality and rights. He is young and apparently very right wing. Hates cops. Why do I know all of this? He insisted on telling me.

Joe was the clerk helping me purchase a pair of Ultra hiking boots and was very helpful. Very friendly and went out of his way to help. I don't know who these other people talked to and complained about but It wasn't Joe.

The store front was very enticing and although small, it was the perfect convenience store geared toward hikers! The cashiers were super friendly and answered any and all questions we had. If you need AT or Harpers ferry souvenirs, they have a wonderful selection of stickers, shirts, magnets, etc. i just wanted everything

Bottom Line: A small store but lots of inventory consisting of some refreshments, souvenirs and hiking/backpacking gear. I love a general store. I wasn't really sure what to expect from this store but I was pleasantly surprised with all of the goodies inside. The store is packed but well organized. There is even a small grocery section that backpackers may appreciate. I spent most of my time looking at ice cream treats, t-shirts and sunglasses but I also checked out some other stuff like camo stove fuel, sleeping bags, dehydrated meals, bike repair tools, stickers and water bottles. Apparently the owner of this store use to have various storefronts offering outdoor gear, bikes, etc. but now I think they just have this general store. They no longer sell bikes but they have contact information for a mobile bike repair guy that is apparently awesome. This store is no more than several hundred yards from the Appalachian Trail and probably about a 1/2 mile from the C&O Canal Towpath.

Completely agree with the previous review. The owner just cared about chatting with the young hikers rather than helping out customers. He hung outside with them and was chatting with them for hours while I was in Harpers Ferry for the day. But the owner doesn’t care about this review, right? He just cares that “hardly any pretty girls hike in Harpers Ferry anymore and when they do, they are surrounded by 6 guys.” Professional business owner, right?
