Absolutely wonderful. We rode our bikes down from Ohio to float the river, and was greeted by the nicest lady, I believe her name was Christine, Chrissy. Anyway, she was so nice. I just want to give a shout out to her. Thank you so much for you hospitality, and good vibes.

Be your own captain! On the slower moving Upper New River, with Class I-Class III rapids, you can rent a raft or duckies and do a self guided private scenic float. These self-guided river adventures begin at our Hinton, WV basecamp, just minutes from the popular Pipestem Resort State Park, Bluestone State Park and the famous White Sulphur Springs Resort. Along your float trip, bald eagles roost in the towering sycamores, the rare blue herring is commonly seen fishing in pools around the island. A variety of water fowl, white egrets, whitetailed deer, mink, flying squirrels, beaver and great bass fishing from the shores of the island are just a few of the wonders you will experience.
