About Huntington Cabell Wayne Animal Control Shelter
The Huntington Cabell Wayne Animal Control Shelter is a highly praised no-kill animal shelter that provides exceptional care and attention to the dogs and cats in their charge. The facility is described as very clean and spacious, with the staff and volunteers going above and beyond to ensure the well-being of the animals.
The shelter has a variety of dogs and cats available for adoption, ranging from high-energy to low-energy, lap dogs to loyal companions. Reviewers have highlighted specific animals they have adopted, such as Jasper, Ned, Leo, Rhett, Finn, and Savannah, all of whom have found loving homes.
While the majority of the reviews are overwhelmingly positive, there were a few instances of staff members being perceived as rude or not properly communicating the needs of certain animals. However, these appear to be isolated incidents, and the overall consensus is that the shelter is a wonderful place that truly cares for the animals in its care.
The shelter is often described as being bursting at the seams, suggesting a high volume of animals in need. Reviewers encourage volunteering as a way to help the shelter and the animals, as well as potentially adopting a furry friend. While the shelter's hours may not be 24/7, the community seems to recognize the important work they do and the need for more support and resources to continue their mission.
Always very grateful for the hard work, dedication and commitment to the animals, community and people 💙🐾. Great staff. Under appreciated service by our local government. Thank you for all you do!

The people there are good people. They really want what's best for the animals. They need more funding especially after that evil mayor cut it. They are spread really thin and it's not fair to the people or the animals.
