They not only missed my delivery window by hours, when I called to get an updated estimate I was passed off by the customer service rep to someone else when I thought I was just on hold while she got more information. The new person proceeded to yell at me and talk over me repeatedly. When I asked for information about where the truck was at that time so I could do my own estimate, I was told they didn’t know anything about my area - I live 25 mins from their office. 🙄 They absolutely seem to hate their jobs and have no interest in helping customers. When the driver finally arrived at my house hours later, he was alone and couldn’t facilitate the delivery by himself as the crate was too large. So now we wait for a reschedule, I’m not optimistic this will go smoothly.
ETA - my original delivery date was 10/9 and I get it, things happen. No complaint about it, but one would think knowing they were already late they would be more considerate. The driver should never have been placed in the position to make that delivery alone. I can’t imagine the nightmare working for such people.

Only reason for 1 star is the driver was nice. He delivered a very large swingset I ordered that came in 4 boxes and on a double pallet. They only sent one guy to deliver it and because of this he had difficulty unloading it as they are very long, heavy boxes. Management needs to step up and hire more people before someone gets hurt. You can't have one guy unloading this stuff. I even called my father in law to come assist but the driver had it off before he arrived. Do Better!

They need to teach their drivers how to drive safely, and need to have devices to monitor their driving and to actually enforce safe driving. Yesterday on route 34 in Teaysvalley WV a truck straight up cut me off and almost caused a wreck and just drove off like nothing happened

Locomote Express received my freight on Monday. I called them and was told
it would be delivered by Thursday or Friday. I call again on Friday because I have yet to hear from them. They inform me that it will now be Monday delivery. I live about 20 minutes away from them and my freight has been just sitting there on the dock the whole week. I would not consider my address to be rural, I live 10 minutes from main street saint albans.
To the owner, if my freight can be delivered today (Friday), as promised, I will delete this review.

This company has no business being a delivery service. I have had two deliveries by this company that have taken over a week each once they get the freight from Estes. It is ridiculous to wait an addition week for a delivery that is mission critical. If Zero stars were an option, I would give them zero.

He arrived completely unprepared to unload my delivery. I don’t understand why a freight shipping company would send one man to do a two person job or without proper tools to at least unload the delivery to a safe location. He barely was able to move my delivery out of the road and left it at the furthest most part of my driveway and told me that was “the best he could do.” I’m thankful I at least have helpful, vigilant neighbors who were appalled at the level of such disregard and lack of care given by the delivery company and helped me move the pallet out of the way to a safe location.

I got here and they unloaded my luggage very slowly. I didn't have much luggage. I have 5 pallets and 3 hours. I lost time

Delivery is not the only thing they need to be concerned with. Driver safety needs improvement. I was recently on a 3 lane roadway, with the Locomote truck in the middle lane. The truck took up the entire lane, from white line to white line. She continued to cross the white line on each side. She came into my lane and ran me into the curb. I immediately knew the vehicle would need an alignment. I contacted the Parkersburg office within 10 minutes and explained what happened. I was told to have the issue addressed and contact them back, in Parkersburg. I also left my name and number if they needed to contact me. The next day my vehicle alignment was completed and I was told I would need 2 tires due to broken belts. I called the Parkersburg office and was told I would need to contact the Huntington office. I contacted the safety person and was told they looked at video. They said the driver made no abrupt moves and they were not responsible. I requested to speak with the owner and to get their insurance information for a police report, they said he would not be talking to me and would not provide me with information. I will be sure that the insurance knows of the driver and the owners actions, as well as the DOT. I just want fixed what her driving tore up. So watch out for Locomote trucks on the roadway. I read a reviews and found issues with deliveries and how they treat employees as well. Ramona Snyder

Reading the bad reviews made me iffy but they delivered my kids swing set without it being damaged and it was earlier than expected! They even put the boxes where I needed them. Very polite workers.

This company has been used twice (not by choice). The first delivery was a year ago. They brought the item, and the boxes were busted to the extent that you could see the item busted, which was sticking out of the box (pictures were obtained once they brought the item in prior to unboxing). Of course, they blamed the freight company, which dropped the item off to them. The freight company responded that if the boxes were damaged, they should not have accepted and would have noticed it prior to attempting to deliver to me.
I had an item delivered today. The driver left it on a pallet beside the road. The driver was rude, unwilling to rectify the situation, and left (stating, "I don't have time to deal with this. You will have to pay more to have it moved to your driveway"). Upon calling their office to report the driver and the item being left, the supervisor was also rude and had no solution to the problem. They could, at the very least, place the item in the driveway and not on the side of the road. The very rude driver refused and left the item in the rain. The box was also damaged. I obtained photos prior to having the item brought indoors. The entire ordeal was also recorded from the numerous outdoor cameras). I made contact with the seller as this company should be liable for damages.
Sadly, when purchasing large items, the shipper gives no option as to who makes the delivery. Items seem to get left with this joke of a company for local delivery. When I order another large item, I'm going to stress that delivery will be refused if this company and their rude employees and management attempt to deliver an item.
Other companies go above and beyond. This company isn't competent enough to do their basic job.

I had a delivery from Locomote Express and from the start everything was very professional. The two men that delivered never let the snow and ice stop them and brought the 230 lb pallet into my garage up a incline. The delivery was rescheduled several times due to enclimate weather but I was kept informed of delay. The communications was very professional and merchandise was handled with care. I would highly recommend this company for any delivery.

As a former worker at locomote I can say the only thing good about the place is the pay. The owner is very disrespectful to employees as well has been with customers over the phone. They lie on the job posting about what the job persists saying things like lifting up to 75lbs. Try more like 300lb almost every day breaking your back. All the cons- No heat in the in the winter. Can’t afford to buy dock workers uniforms. Can’t provide you with the correct tools to unload freight. “But yet the owner has money to go buy a brand new fully loaded ford.” Makes sense. The operation manger does nothing but play on his phone or go out on the dock to vape. Place won’t be there in 5 years. Too much disrespect to almost all employees. Their turnover rate is insane and I wonder why!???
