Not pet friendly. NOT PET FRIENDLY.I'm always polite and ask. Came INSIDEand asked if dogs were allowed outside on the beautiful deck overlooking the water. One of servers said she was unsure but would check. She came back and said no. Never heard of a dog not allowed for outside dining. Went up the street and they rolled out then red carpet. I will never darken the doorway again!Noteworthy details: NOT PET FRIENDLY FOR OUTDOOR DINING!

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE: This use to be a great place to eat and take in the Greenbrier River view BUT my Wife & I stopped in there for lunch 4/28/2024. We asked one of the waitresses (young blonde girl was talking her head off to another girl working there) if it was ok to eat out on the deck which she replied yes and went back to talking. We waited at least 20 minutes and she never appeared to wipe the table down or get us drinks. So my Wife went in requested menu's hoping she would take the hint. About 10 minutes later she came out and wiped the table down and asked us what we wanted to drink...and we requested tea...she said she would be right back WHICH NEVER HAPPENED! SO after 10 minutes more expired she never showed so we decided to leave! My Wife walked in handed the waitress (which was still leaning on the counter yacking her head off to the other girl) and said " we can't wait all year like this" in which the waitress without regard nonchalantly reply "ok" like it was nothing and went right back to yacking her head off. We walked outside and an older gentleman across the street asked us "how was the food"? Which I walked over to him and replied "I don't know, the waitress has been talking her head off and hasn't served us as much as a drink"! And he replied to me "well you've been over there over half an hour wow"! "There's another Restaurant around the corner named Dean's Den they'll take care of you " and they did! Very personable waitresses and great food..I highly recommend them!!! P.S to add Greenbrier Grill wasn't even busy at the moment!!! 3 couples indoor and 2 couples out on the deck besides us. So they really really suck!!!!!!!

We didn’t stay there but we did stop and eat there. Forgot to take pictures of the food but it was delicious. We had hamburgers, onion rings, mashed potatoes, chopped steak, salad and baked potato. Everything was cooked perfect and had great flavors. Server was wonderful and super nice. The River view was beautiful.Food & drinks: Food was perfect. They have a good variety of foods

Would not eat here after working here because they do not follow basic food safety rules and knows how to temperature control their food safety protocols worst place for food safety regulations

If your driving thru this area it's Definitely a place to stop for good food. We had the Club Sandwich..which was the best we have had in a long time...super fresh and super good. Also ordered a bowl of Chili...was perfect...I almost ordered another it was so good. We also had the BBQ boneless Wings, the sauce was amazing. Then we had a surprise dessert... Cheesecake Tacos are off the chain...good...Get you some! And when your all done eating...Get you some Duck Food.... .50 a bag and well with it..The Ducks and the Goose who limps and seems to be missing part of a wing... little birds they come flying in from everywhere and are adorable. I think we ended up feeding them 5 bucks worth. It's definitely worth the stop...it was a bit cold for us to sit outside very nice place anyway..We were so hungry I didn't get a picture of everything.

The food was wonderful, recommend the beer cheese 100%. The meals came out almost as soon as we ordered them, hot, fresh, correct, and delicious. But the main reason for my review is because the person I came here with, actually fainted very soon after our food came out. He stood up to walk outside for some fresh air bc he felt unwell, and on the way to the front door he fell down. I was in shock and didn't know what to do, but the folks in the restaurant rushed to his aid without hesitating. We were staying in a cabin only a half a mile away so we actually walked there. The local folks there said there was no question of us walking back and rideshare wasn't an option out here. The server Hailey was amazing, she had a full dining room but was still walking over to our table with to-go boxes and the check almost immediately. The kind folks dining there drove us back to our cabin and made sure he was alright during the drive. We're thinking it was dehydration (blame the hot tub and the bottle of wine we drank earlier in the day), bc he is completely fine now. So a HUGE thank you to everyone involved, staff and patrons alike, you guys were the best folks to have on hand during something scary like this. If you're in town, I definitely recommend checking this place out. *Don't forget the beer cheese!*Nearby activities: Snowshoe ski resort, fishing access, plenty of convenience stores.Walkability: Easy access, ramp, front door clearly marked, etc.Food & drinks: The food was SOOOO good and the service was impeccable.Noteworthy details: The view can't be beat. The river area is so undeveloped, it was an amazing experience for us city folk.

Stopped to eat on Saturday night and when we walked in the waitress looked like we were bothering her. She had a bad attitude. The food was cold and no turkey gravy for the turkey dinner. Dressing was dry as sand. They added 20% tip but that doesn’t mean you don’t provide good service. Waitress checked in or if we wanted dessert. Tried to go back for breakfast because everywhere said they open at 7, we got there at 730 and found out they didn’t open til 8. Was going to try and give them a second chance. Guess not.

Terrible experience, one waitress the other one was around someplace, but then the place emptied out and the waitresses stayed in the back when they delivered my food I got French toast I put two butter patties on top of the French toast. They didn't melt at all then I also had sausage and gravy which was cold and there was enough gravy for half of a biscuit and they give you two biscuits. Then I got three eggs over medium and the eggs were literally almost cold, lukewarm at best, I took the French toast back. I stood back by the waitresses were in the back and she kept talking and talking and talking not acknowledging me at all. Finally, I just took French toast back to my seat because I wanted to get it microwaved, but I said, forget it I still in front of the register I had to wait in front of the register. The place is almost empty literally I was an imposition to her day, but I took the highroad. I gave her a three dollar tip which I should've given her three cents but I'm done this is definitely got to be the only place in town to eat because their customer service is horrible and their food is terrible. Why does the border health at least come in and check the food that they're serving because they're serving cold food.

Dropping a 5 star review here because I believe this place is underrated compared to, frankly, overrated establishments around it. The food and service were awesome here and the prices were very reasonable. There is a duck feeding station outside and it just feels like all around the most authentic food joint in Marlinton.

I hate that I only ever think to leave a review when something is wrong, but here we go.My family and I recently bought a house in Marlinton. Upon arrival, most of the locals explained that the service is terrible but the food is decent. We have eaten at this place 3 times in person. The service is indeed the worst. (Seriously, cursing loud enough for patrons to hear in the front, attitudes, etc.) Maybe because I have traveled so often I am spoiled. I just do not think that food should take over an hour and a half sometimes 2 hours in an empty restaurant, and when the food does come there has been mistakes each time.We have placed to go orders twice. The first order, we paid, went home, we’re missing 2 of our Childrens orders. I went back up and because a receipt WASNT GIVEN to us, I had to PAY AGAIN for the missing full meals. My daughter today, wanted to place an order. This being the second time, they substituted food that was not wanted. They didn’t even ask…? then they explained they were out of “everything” upon questioning. Today was the last time. Shame. We are very loyal customers. Family of 8.

During my three-night stay in Marlinton, I ate at this restaurant three times — once for breakfast and twice for dinner. The food and the service were good. They got a little busy during breakfast (after 9 AM), so get there early! The restaurant sits right next to the river, and there are quite a few ducks that stay in the area. For a mere fifty cents, you can purchase a generous bag of corn and feed the ducks. What a hoot!Food & drinks: Nothing fancy, but a good variety of filling and delicious choices.
