Don’t get an account here if you are a student. There are plenty of better banks with student accounts that don’t overdraft your card and charge you $45 + $6 a day.

Great location great people but the constant pending charges and it thinking my account is over drawn is frustrating as hell when it won't let you use the money you know you have. Its done this from day 1 of me opening my account seriously considering a new banking option .

Rude bank teller, I usually don't make reviews however this frustrated me. If you choose a job, do it right and respectfully.

Can't even go in the lobby after restrictions have gone down. A basic thing every bank does except this one which us stupid. Change your hours on your door if you can't even help people. I'm closing my account with you.

My family and I have always banked with First United, and we have never had any major issues with them. They are very good at what they do and everyone there is so polite and helpful. I’m glad I chose to bank with them.

THIS BANK IS HORRIBLE!!!! I had gone over $16.49. And they told me I had a $10 leniency. So if I went over under $10 then I wouldn't incur an overdraft fee... Now that sounds all good. But what they don't tell you. Is that it's all about how they "process" it. So now because I was over $6.49 they want me to pay them a total of $98.64........even one overage is only $40.00. But they charged me twice on the SAME DAY an then said some bullshit that they were allowed to do so. I told them I lost my job and I could not afford all of that and I was willing to pay for the $6.49 plus the $40.00 overage...... They said they would not help me... Literally from the assistant managers mouth.... "we refuse to help you. You can pay it now or we can send it to collections"..... Wtf, are u kidding me?!? I've been using this bank for close to a year and they use my money everytime I cash my check and I don't charge them any fees or any of that. I had an overage from them before were I went over $60.00 from gasoline and they charged me $220 in fees!!! I didn't want my credit ruined so I paid the ridiculous price!! And she even had the balls to tell me..... "we see that u had an overage before and we are not willing to help you again"...... I said help me again? U guys f**king charged me 220$ for a $60 purchase!!! And I still paid it and made it good. Oh also on top of that she tells me. " well good luck getting ur check cashed anywhere else".... F**king excuse me?? She went into other things as well that I'm too pissed off to write. But there were two ppl in the office and she completely humiliated me! Made me feel worthless and then refused to help me!! Absolutely terrible, terrible bank. I even went to corporate.... They refused to help me!! So the only thing I could do was close my account. An the balance was at $98.64......i called (regional manager).......I called (branch manager) jus to make sure that it was closed n I wouldn't get anymore fees. Until I could get a job an pay it back. They BOTH said it was closed n I wouldn't be getting anymore fees...... I jus got a certified letter saying they now want $138.47!!!! Saying they will take me to court if it is not paid within 20 days. I'm glad it's closed. But now what are these fees about?!?!... I called the number on the letter only to get voicemail and no contact back. This BANK IS HORRIBLE. THEY SAY THEY ARE ALL ABOUT THE CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP BUT THAT IS BULLS**T!! I'M A LOYAL CUSTOMER AND I'M GETTING CHARGED $138.47 FOR $16.49!!!! THE BANK AN REPRESENTATIVES HAVE DONE NOTHING BUT BELITTLE ME, EMBARRASS AND HUMILIATE ME. NEVER USE THIS BANK. the only ONLY good thing I will say is that (Debbie) I think a supervisor there was sweet an helpful to me in the past. But I have not been able to get ahold of her since these things have happened. Other then that. TAKE UR MONEY ELSEWHERE!!! TRUST ME

From an aggravated mother of two children under the age of two: Thank you to the woman who I believe is named Nancy at the Martinsburg WV branch of our bank! I showed up early this morning, already having a rough start to my day with two small children in the van that had both been crying but had both JUST fallen asleep when I was told at the drive-thru that what I intended to get done I would need to come INSIDE the bank for. Cringe. The poor gal in the drive-thru, I don't even know what kind of look I gave her but I'm sure it wasn't friendly (sorry!). I pulled around to the front of the bank, aggravated with myself for choosing to come to the bank during a thunderstorm and aggravated that I needed to go inside. My frustrations were misplaced. I was not aggravated with the gal in the drive-thru and I was not aggravated with the bank. It was just a life moment when things were not working in my favor. BUT, Nancy the bank associate who helped me once I was inside, must have sensed that this could go one of two ways, and took it upon herself to turn my day around. She met me at the security doors and held them open for me, acknowledging that my hands were very much full, carrying an infant seat and a toddler through the rain. She was sweet to my boys and quickly and politely handled my affairs. When I went to leave she walked me, two kids in tow, to my car with an umbrella. My purpose in writing this is to say thank you. Thank you to Nancy who works at First United Bank & Trust in Martinsburg WV. You ma'am made my day a little easier and calmed down one aggravated momma! When it comes to being a mom to multiple little ones this goes a LONG way! First United you have a real asset working for you!

I have banked with them for years and they have the nicest people and the most secure Banks. Going in you pass through double doors that they have to release from inside. You can't go in through the out door at my bank.
