If you are in need of a groomer in the area, or honestly even not (it’s worth the drive), I would highly recommend Barbara! She was so sweet and very helpful. I felt very comfortable with leaving my dog in her care. She is very personable and good with the dogs and is also very well priced. Will definitely be our go to groomer from now on!

Paw Prints Veterinary Clinic
5900 Nancy D Dr, WestoverI am a rat owner and one of my rats had an oral tumor that was hindering him eating and making his teeth continue to grown. I called everywhere to see if someone could trim his teeth and they said yes!
Everyone was so sweet towards my feisty guy.
Two months later, my poor rat passed and I called the day before to have him euthanized but he didn’t make it through the night. The ladies at the desk the next day were so kind and understanding when I brought him in to be cremated.
They are so compassionate and I recommend them truly

Feline Veterinary Care of Morgantown
1821 Sturgiss Ave, MorgantownIf you have a kitty, this is the place to go. Everyone is so kind, compassionate, and they are truly invested in your kitty! My Cupcake was getting older (16) so we were there a lot the last few years. Cupcake lost use of her back legs and I called to see if I could get an earlier appointment. They didn’t have a spot, but the receptionist put me on hold, spoke to the vet, and they got Cupcake in at 12:30 that day. I lost my kitty last week and I’m still devastated, but I can’t forget the kindness and love they showed us and Cupcake. The vet had also suggested Dr. Holt with Next Ridge for in home euthanasia when the time came. That was a wonderful recommendation and I am so appreciative of this suggestion.

Mountaineer Veterinary Clinic
239 Green Bag Road, MorgantownI recently had the pleasure of speaking with Emma, and I can’t say enough great things about her. She truly went above and beyond for me, even putting some of my worries to ease. I was trying to find care for Sid the Ferret, who we suspect has DIM—a rare condition that brings some pretty big challenges, especially with the medication protocol needed for recovery. Emma was incredible; she took the time to talk through our jiurney thus far and the supportive care I was giving Sid at home since we didn’t get instructions for at home care when we were discharged from another vet. She promised to talk to the vet about his case and get back to me, no matter what. Sure enough, she called me the very next day.
When Emma called, she let me know that the vet didn’t have experience with DIM, which is completely understandable given its only known to happen in ferrets, was only first discovered in 2003, and how rare it is even in ferrets. But what really stood out to me was the honesty and how much they cared. She didn’t just leave it at that—she gave me two referrals to specialists who might be more experienced. And here’s where Emma and the doctor truly went above and beyond: Emma reassured me that if I couldn’t get help elsewhere, they would still do their best for Sid. They had already looked into the medication challenges and were willing to consult with Dr. Katerina Ramsell from the American Ferret Association if it came to that.
Hearing her say, “We don't have experience with DIM so there may be better options, but in the event that doesnt work out for whatever reason, we’re here for you and will do everything we can for Sid,” meant the absolute world to me. It honestly brought me to tears knowing that not only had they already spent their (non-paid) time to research DIM and the treatment protocol, but they were also willing to attempt treatment if I couldn't get in elsewhere so Sid could have a chance at recovery.
I don’t know if we’ll end up needing Emma and Dr. Minger for Sid’s treatment, but if we do, I know we’ll be in great hands and they truly will do everything in their power to help us. And even if we get treatment elsewhere, I’d love to bring Sid to Mountaineer Vet for our routine appointments if they’ll have us!

Mountain Laurel Kennels
400 County Rte 75/4, MorgantownThis kennel is absolutely the best!!! I have never seen a kennel with such TLC !! It is spotless!! Top notch organization! My dog is temperamental, and high maintenance. When I dropped her off she went with Jack like it was nothing!!! She is 9 years old and spoiled ! A week later when we picked her up she didn’t know us right away. They don’t mix the dogs which I love!! Each dog gets his own play yard!! We highly recommend this place !!!! 10 plus stars!!!

Brownie's Bed & Breakfast
100 Jo Glen Dr, MorgantownWe mostly take our pup with us when we travel, but when we can't we always count on Brownies to give our guy the best care. The staff and owner at Brownie's really pay attention to each pets individual needs. Just one conversation with any of them is all you really need to know you are dealing with true animal lovers and that your pet is in good hands. I especially love checking in on their social media to see what our dog is up to while we are away. However, I think the biggest testament to this business is the fact that our dog gets super excited when we pull into the driveway and runs into the building ready for a week at "camp."

Black Bear Evansdale
3119 University Ave, MorgantownThis is probably the best place in Morgantown to get good vegan food. Staff is knowledgeable about veganism and very helpful. I got the Thai salad with tofu and it was delicious and healthy. This is the place to go if you are in this area. Beer is good too, plenty of local choices.

Von Blaze
1 Wall St, MorgantownStopped in for lunch yesterday and this place blew us away.
Von Blaze is a small, cozy spot with limited indoor seating, and we hit it right at peak lunch rush—but they got us seated quickly. There’s outdoor seating too, but it was a hot day and no shade, so we opted for inside.
Our server was fast, friendly, and on top of things. What really stood out, though, was the owner—she made a point to stop by each table and personally introduce herself. That kind of hospitality goes a long way.
Now for the food: wow. I had the Pot Liquor Pork sandwich and it was absolutely phenomenal. Perfectly smoked, tender, juicy pork paired with collard greens and a killer sauce—this sandwich ranks as one of the best I’ve had anywhere. Full stop.
We also shared the Elote Fry plate—unique and delicious. Everyone at the table was raving. My daughter loved her burger too, and we all left feeling like we’d discovered a gem.
We’ll 100% be back.

Crockett's Lodge
3395 University Ave, MorgantownWe did not order food. Great atmosphere friendly bartender. Drink prices a little high in my opinion. We paid 6.50 for crown and water on the rocks and 10.00 for a pitcher of bud light. I prefer bottles but at $4.00 and some tax no thanks. Not sure of the overhead but 5 for a crown and water and 2.50 for a domestic seem more appropriate for this spot.

The Greene Turtle Sports Bar & Grille
7100 Willie G Ave, MorgantownWe arrived at 8:30 pm after a baseball tournament. Our hotel was near the restaurant, so we chose to go there. Upon arrival, it was slow. The kitchen closed at 10 pm, so they had left most of their wait staff go home. We had a party of 14, and shortly after our arrival, two other large parties arrived. ASHLYNN was our server. She was courteous, helpful, friendly and just amazing. Despite being the ONLY wait staff working the restaurant, she confidently waited on each group and was smiling and kind throughout our entire visit. Never once did she act annoyed or bothered as she served our table. 100/10 would come back JUST because of Ashlynn. That girly deserves a RAISE.

Draft
5008 Mid Atlantic Dr, MorgantownAtmosphere – 4 stars
Draft offers a large, open dining area with plenty of seating. The layout feels casual and comfortable, making it a great spot for groups or a relaxed lunch. There’s also a full bar and a few tables outside for when the weather’s nice. Clean and spacious with a good vibe.
Service – 4 stars
The waitress was friendly and attentive throughout the visit. Service was prompt and welcoming, adding positively to the overall experience.
Food – 4 stars
I tried the Philly Chicken Wrap with pub fries—served hot and packed with flavor, though a bit too messy to handle easily. Still, the quality was solid and enjoyable.
Also sampled the Blackened Chicken Sandwich with tater tots. The grilled chicken was excellent—well-cooked and well-seasoned. The tots were a standout—crispy, fresh, and clearly cooked in clean oil (better than the fries, which were still very good).
The only letdown was the sweet tea—bland, likely not freshly brewed, and lacking sweetness.
Overall, a satisfying meal with a few highlights and only minor drawbacks. I’d definitely recommend giving Draft a try.
