Can't go in with your pet/family. This place is ridiculously expensive! Not to mention this a money pit and they know how to charge and charge you for everything. In 3 months and 2 dogs later. 1300. I got charged to get no answers. I paid a ton of money to this business to get nothing in return. It's sad, that they get away with this. All they wanted to know from me was how much was my budget.. well my pets are family and your sick for even treating people the way you did my family. I should sue you because I requested my dogs x-rays and all his blood work. You so called took. I wanna see it. I don't believe you did anything for my dog. I don't believe anything any of you said. Your a bunch of con artists. You should be ran out of new Martinsville sick people u are

They care about your animals and they are very blunt and will give you good and bad just in case it comes down to that

We have been here for three different cats, shots and one euthanasia in total and have been very satisfied with them through it all. Took our newest cat in for shots today, still doing park and wait outside but we were there about ten minutes total.

Don’t waste your pet’s precious time or your money at this animal hospital. For the past 3 years going here, I have never once met the vet, Amy Urbanek, face to face, even in severe situations. They do not care about the welfare of your fur baby, have no compassion or empathy, and only care about getting as much money as possible from you. The first thing they will ask when your bring your sick fur baby to them is, “How much are you willing to spend today?” without any diagnosis or suggestions for treatment. You will only ever speak to the vet techs here. For any of the New Martinsville residents, I highly recommend going to Dr. Meckley at the Mountain Valley Veterinary Clinic. He will give you the detail you deserve to know and do everything in his power for your furry friend, for a more affordable price.

Financially flexible and they've always treated our animals well!Minus 1 star for a rude vet tech that commented poorly on behalf of our beagle but aside from that 5 stars on quick service and cost!

You have to stay in your car, you can't go in, and the lady we had was kind of rude but our animals were taken very good care of and that's what matters

They are so thoughtful. When two of our kittens passed away, they were so sweet and understanding. Their courtesy goes above and beyond 5 stars, their kindness and service is immense. We mourn the loss of our babies but their kindness is a candle in the dark, a star in the sky

Lack of compassion, worth it for an emergency but their focus is absolutely more about the money than anything… if you want your pets to be treated as “just another animal” or viewed as $$$, use them. Otherwise, go somewhere else.$270+ for euthanizing 5lb chihuahua and received her remains in a card board box.My mom usually uses another vet, but she had to get Sophie to a vet quickly. NMAH took them in, Sophie ended up needing euthanized immediately due to the situation. My mom asked for cremation. They didn’t discuss or offer any urn options, no explanation nothing, which I’m sure was the last thing my mom thought to ask questions about after having to go through this over her fur pup of 12 almost 13 YEARS.. fast forward to today, she was told that Sophie’s remains were ready and she went to pick her up…. She walked in and they handed her a cardboard box with a bag inside with her remains with a sticker slapped on the side with Sophie’s name. Not sure if you can picture what that would look like, but it isn’t pretty. And definitely not something easy to process when you just lost a beloved pet. This is not at all professional or what should be expected. This isn’t my family’s first go around with cremating a pet. Stella (my sisters pup) and my Gypsy were cremated through Dr, Meckley office. They brought in a booklet with different urn options, necklaces etc and asked if we wanted paw prints, hair etc. gave us pricing lists and made sure we were comfortable with the entire process and left nothing for question. When we received them, they were already in the urn, with a custom name plate etc and all the things.(my 50lb blue heeler that had to be euthanized by meckley was euthanized, cremated etc in total less than 200$) AND they sent me a card in the mail a week later saying they were sorry for my loss. Which is exactly how it should be..Bottom line is, it was disrespectful to not only Sophie but my family as a whole and very much unprofessional on their part. They never asked, offered or mentioned urn options. My sister later called back and asked if they had urns and they said “well we could order one but we don’t have any” … they had not one, not two but 3 opportunities to do the correct and logical thing… 1. The day she was euthanized 2 when they received her remains and called my mom they could have said “hey, we have Sophie’s remains, however they are not in an urn, would you like to purchase one for her on your own or from us? Would you like us to transfer her remains for you?” 3. When my sister called back in they could have offered more than just “we can order one” of those would have been acceptable, instead they got caught up in routine and Sophie was handed back to her family by someone who viewed her as “just another dog” . Bottom line is, she may have just been “just a dog” to them. But she was not just a dog to her family.Thankfully my mom was able to call Dr. Meckleys office and they told her to come out right away, she was able to purchase an urn, order a custom name plate etc AND they transferred Sophie’s remains for my mom and we’re incredibly sympathetic to her.

I brought my sick cat in, phoebe, only place to fit her in quickly. Sadly it was too far gone and we would be spending thousands of dollars and the workers expressed this, didn’t try to trick us into spending money. So we went ahead and decided that her being out to sleep was the best idea for her. They took her in, got her arm catheter in and I was able to be in the room. I held my baby for about 10 minutes while she slowly dosed off from the anesthesia. Soon the dr came in, she was very nice. She injected my baby as I held her and felt her leave in my arms. She waited a few seconds before taking phoebe to the back. Once brought back out to our car, she was in a very nice box for a burial, and they gave us a clay paw print of her two front paws with her name. Although I was sad I was very appreciated of everything the staff had done. I just now got a card in the mail from the vets office, it was very heartfelt and signed by the Dr and staff. This place is very considerate and overall they made the process very easy. Wish it wouldn’t have happened but it did, and they did amazing at their job.

They've been our vets since Dr. Barnes opened! The new owners have THE MOST caring staff I've had the displeasure of meeting. Let me explain, Baylee (15) is or was, my parents beloved furbaby. She stopped breathing while I was visiting from out of state. I called. Within 15 minutes Baylee was crossing the rainbow bridge. I was allowed to cradle her in her favorite blanket the whole while. XO
