I can't say enough good things about the New River Humane Society in Oak Hill!!!Please know that they are in NO WAY affiliated with the Fayette County Human Society in Fayetteville, which is run by FAYETTE county. They are two completely different businesses!!!!!I have volunteered at the NRHS for over a year now and can personally attest to the care of the animals and the dedication of the people that work there. The animals are fed twice a day. Cages are cleaned daily, if not more!!! Love, hugs and pets are given ALL throughout the day. They even take the time to work with the animals that are shy, so that their true personalities come through.NRHS saved 1,658 animals last year!!! They take great care of the animals and are conscientious about finding them forever homes!!I believe 100% in what they do and what they provide for our community. They have big hearts and actually care about the animals that pass through their doors!PLEASE SPAY OR NEUTER YOUR ANIMALS!!!!!!!

Not very happy with whoever the dog catcher is. Should be fired. He can’t do his job and a hypocrite.

Caring, compassionate people helping the animals of Fayette County find loving homes. I help with getting feral cats spayed/neutered, rescues, and fostering cats. This rescue is always willing to help out when needed- truly wonderful people!!!

Way too expensive to adopt a kitten. Makes it so some can't afford, but it's the kitties missing out on some wonderful furever homes and out of cages!

They put my cat up for adoption without putting up a missing so i could claim my cat “johnny”. his name is cosmo. I have begged for my cat back but someone has already adopted him. i don’t know what else to do for my cat. i miss him so much. he has separation anxiety towards me. i’ve had him for 2 years. i live in boomer and this place is all the way in oak hill. i hope whoever has him now will let me know so i know he’s happy and okay and safe.

Just getting back to business! The sweetest, caring staff. Finding forever homes for animals that need help! Restores your faith in humanity. Even if it's just a few dollars we should all show or support and appreciation.
