Poor customer service. I always appreciated the in-person customer service of the BB&T (now Truist) branches, but this branch in particular is disrespectful and rude. I was genuinely shocked by their attitudes and lack of professionalism, and disappointed with the help I received.

Forces people to sign up for an account to cash their own checks. Hate having to sign up for an account to simply cash my labors paycheck from the bank it was issued. Literally use their papers and cards to open my locked door when I leave my keys. This is the deceitful tactics they use to make money. Also they continue to list hours wrong.

Worst customer experience ever. Signed up for a savings account, everything went through, went to change physical address, became a month-long ordeal. Finally had to file a BBB complaint to get the account closed. A few days later, discovered BB&T shredded by driver's license. Would love to know why a financial institution has the legal authority to destroy a legal document, such as a state driver's license. No contact, just took it upon themselves to shred my driver's license. Contacted the branch about the incident, she appeared to have patted herself on the back for her decision. First of all, I think it is irresponsible for a bank clerk "public servant" to hold onto a client's driver's license from the get-go. This document should have been included and returned with the rest of my paperwork. This is incompetency at its best. I forgot to mention, there was an open door of continuous communication in this matter. The initial issue was never resolved, even with the help of BBB. I was continuously in contact the Parkersburg, WV Gihon branch and a bank representative via BBB. And, poor customer service should not be contributed to COVID-19. BB&T has a long history of providing poor customer service across the board. Would not recommend to my worst enemy. Furthermore, many bank clerks have a chip on their shoulder because they are required to dress to the 90s while on duty. In all honesty, they don't have a pot to piss in. I work for a Fortune 500 Company and have never behaved so poorly. Shame on BB&T for ignoring unprofessionalism among their employees. They should be held accountable for their actions. If it weren't for consumers, BB&T branches would be nothing more than empty buildings.

If they would have had a no star I would have pushed it, because they are rude, they didn't help when we needed help the most, then they closed my account without my acknowledgement. They let my check get sent back to SSI. I live on a fix income which I worked for my whole life. So I have nothing positive to say about BB&T ON Southside....
