They would not see my youngest cat for emergency because she is the only one of all my cats that has been to their partner in vienna same business in all other aspects, appts etc...vienna was not open and the hospital told me the emergency no.in chlstn...they couldn't even believe they did that to me!!!!\nI have had numerous cats to both locations and just because she had not been in that physical building\nShe's not a patient\nThat's funny because her records are on file there because I told them to transfer all records to vca\nUnbelievable\nEspecially in an emergency situation\nI wouldn't recommend them to anyone\nGood bye

I have taken my pets to PVH for over 20 years. I have had to have several put to sleep. Under the circumstances I was always happy that I was able to hug them and tell them that they are a good boy/girl. They would be sedated and relaxed then when I was ready they'd be given the medicine and they'd slip away peacefully. I took my little 15 year old dog recently to be put to sleep. Her body was worn out with several issues but her mind was still very alert. She cried out 4 times while the IV line was inserted and that broke my heart enough but I knew she was dehydrated. The vet, Nicole Huddle, came into the room and realized that the IV line was not screwed on but instead of getting one she proceeded to grab a hold of the IV which pinched her skin because it was so close to her skin and bandaged. My dog cried out again. The doctor did not use a medication to relax her. Instead she just began trying to insert the syringe into the IV. I wasn't ready for that. She didn't give the medicine that relaxes the dog. I panicked and asked is this the medication that kills her and not the sedation. She answered yes, this is the one that will make her die. Instead of stepping back and regrouping it all was out of hand. My little dog was trying to get away, crying out and terrified. I was unable to comfort her. Instead of hugging her I had to hold her still while she was struggling. Without the sedation it takes a lot longer than I realized for her to die. My heart is broken and we were robbed of a peaceful moment. It may be something that the doctor does on a regular basis but I don't and I'm very disappointed. It's difficult enough to lose a pet let alone in this way

Turned my dog away because it was too late in the day. Wouldn't even let me say explain her symptoms despite them still being open for 10 mins. Just handed me a paper and said good luck

Very thorough, and quickly got to the root of the problem with my dear companion dog. Turned out she had Lyme disease. They gave me an full coverage treatment plan. They conducted an in- depth bank of blood work, along with a thorough exam. I felt they were kind and compassionate, and even though my fur baby felt miserable, they put her at ease and did all of her exams, tests, etc with very little stress on her part. (Mom, not so much.. I was worried). However, they put me at ease as well.I had to take her in on an emergency basis, so the rate for that was higher than a scheduled appointment, but overall I feel their rates are typical for our area, but their care was exceptional. We have never been disappointed with their care with any of our pets. The clinic is convenient and easy to access. The clinic itself is always spotless, well kept and inviting with a spacious waiting room, which is beautifly decorated. There is plenty of space around seating areas so you're pet doesn't feel overwhelmed by the other pets waiting for their appointments. parking is easy on and out with plenty of space right in front of the clinic.Overall, I highly recommend this clinic. You can be confident your pet will get the best of care.

I breed American Bully’s in Florida and had to be in WVA due to family . Dr. Shockey and his staff went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure my girl had a smooth pregnancy. He made the call to do her C-Section due to large puppies and he was 100% correct in ALL in his decisions . Even the office manager spoke to me to reassure me after I had a small issue with a staff member. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS VET FOR ALL YOUR NEEDS , especially pregnancy and C -Section . They truly care about your fur baby !!!! I have 4 healthy puppies and a healthy mom thanks to this place ! BULLY BREEDERS GO SEE Dr. Shockey !

My 16 year old best friend apparently had kidney disease and we never knew. We tried for a week to flush his kidneys but he was tired and his levels never got better. The staff was friendly and so kind during his stay and treatments. They also didn’t try to talk me into spending any extra the Veterinarians were very real and logical and I appreciate that so much. We were able to bring him home for one more day to be ‘king kitty’ of the house again so we could say goodbye. The hardest decision I’ve had to make was to let Zero go. I’ve never been through it before and the staff really go above and beyond to make it as easy as they can given the circumstances.I truly appreciate that it’s possible to take care of everything with them. I’m not sure I could have handled having to call around and figure out cremation and all that.It was truly a blessing in many ways that they can also take care of that why you grieve.

Our family dog is in need of care and they refused to see him because they were going to close in 40 minutes. I am so glad that they care so little about family pets and is more focused on getting home. I would give them zero stars but unfortunately it won’t allow me to do so.I also failed to mention how the wonderful lady hung up on me. I wouldn’t suggest anyone to use this establishment. Very few people have had a good experience with them.

I left my dog at their kennel with a scheduled appointment for shots and neuter. They declined to do all the shots and neuter because he was "underweight" and did a blood panel even though I had declined it prior to the stay. He put the "weight back on" in less than a week and maintained that for almost a month, but I was told he needs MORE weight because of his "appearance". When I attempted to discuss the breed standard and how he was within it, I was rudely ignored.Because they declined the shots previously, I was forced to use their kennel again when going out of town. To which he did receive the rest of his shots, but came home with a nail infection. Both stays at the kennel also resulted in an excessive amount of food being sent back home. For years, I've used them for all my pets medical needs, this is the first time I've used their kennel.I would not recommend either.

Everyone is so nice. The hospital is clean. Reasonable prices. My dog is very shy and nervous and they are wonderful with him.
